terje439 -> Who are your favorite Youtubers? (4/29/2015 2:36:31 PM)

There are alot of great youtube channels out there, and maybe you know some that deserves mentioning. For me the list of channels I follow is as follows;

thehistoricalgamer - alot of matrix/slitherine games, as well as the presenter himself has alot of knowledge about the eras he presents.

Agrippa Maxentius - also alot of matrix/slitherine titles, and he also (lately) has been presenting some videoes of upcoming slitherine titles.

Chadtopia - a very good total wars player. Also a mix of other games on his channel (Sid Meiers Railroads was what made me find his channel in the first place).

WeaselZone - alot of games I would never have known about unless I watched his vids, currently he has a long Prison Architect series going, as well as other misc games.

Geek & Sundry - a channel I watch for their table top games, where Will Wheaton gathers some friends and play various table top games (Settlers of Cataan, Resistance etc etc).

J2JonJeremy - THE storyteller imo. Currently he is doing a CKII and a Star Trek Online play through. The way he plays CKII as a story, and not to maximize the gaming efforts (although he is doing REALLY well atm) is unlike most channels.

Quill18 - he does alot of Civilization and Paradox games, but also games like Kerbal. Two twitch streams every week. Probably one of the bigger Civ youtubers out there.

Jim Sterling - game reviews and general game industry commentary

Total Biscuit - another good source for game related stuff

Sargon of Akkad - it's always nice to see someone rip Sarkeesian a new one

LindyBeige - neat general stuff on archaeology and medieval weapon use. Makes one ask what the hell some game developers were thinking.

ThunderF00t - He's legendary. 'nuff said

maybe it's just because i'm old, but youtube seems to be full of kids who want 5 mins of fame, and tbh a job, seems like anyone can do it, but do it well is another story, so i'd have to say i follow none

Angry Joe's Angry Reviews.

Every time I'm thinking about buying a game I always search to see if Joe reviewed it. Guy tells it like it is.

True, which is why I only follow a few. Those mentioned here should be the good ones, those actually worth watching.

I have two that I absolutely love and try to catch every episode they do;

Both brilliant in their own way.

Pretty strong production value in the videos, (or I am too easily impressed), definitely good reviews, a little bit too much anger for my tastes but yes, honest.

Kuokkanen -> RE: Who are your favorite Youtubers? (7/8/2017 7:19:58 PM)

Metatron
Author is Italian. Works as linguistic and language teacher. Channel specializes to military history and related lifestyle, operations, combat, equipment, food, and more. To lesser extent: games, languages, author's personal life and experiences. My top recommendation.

Shadiversity
From Australia. His channel contents has much of the same as Metatron's, though he also goes more onto the fantasy side. Oh, he's also got some scifi stuff. Here I highlight his Katana Series and gambeson.

Lazy Game Reviews
Exactly what it says in the tin. Reviews of old classics and some new games too. All kinds of computer hardware - including IBM PC 5150 - and history behind of them. This channel rocks harder than MetalJesusRocks!

I do not even know what the definition of a youtuber is. So I can definitely not have a favourite then.

Ahh...unlikely. A big part of his shtick is his, let's just say, broad Australian vocabulary. He's a bit like Barry Humphries' comic character, the outrageous Sir Les Patterson, who was modelled on an actual 1970s Australian diplomat.

Right, now speaking of Aussies, and if you like car stuff, these guys are great. They're just a couple of knock-about blokes who started out in one of their Mum's driveways about 10 years ago and now have 2.3 million subscribers all over the world, and I believe are on cable TV too.

In this project, they attempt to build a sleeper VW Beetle with a 1000% power increase. It's really good.

A couple more car ones. Jay Leno has the most ridiculous collection of cars and bikes. He adds a new video every Sunday.

Harry's Garage has some fantastic stuff. His own collection includes 70s and 80s supercars like a Ferrari Testarossa and a Lamborghini Countach and he gets to test lovely cars both new and old.

We had to go and look up what "Fair Dinkum" meant the other day. Ah...cultural exposure! S'truth!
