Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-8 Blood in the Water (5/15/2015 9:24:18 AM)

AGS does 1 HQBU and 1st PG pushes towards Stalino, Odessa port is at 45% damage. The LW is just about usless in the south after turn 4 so I will keep it busy. The port should be completely closed in 2 turns and the Romanians will finish it off. The south also has way to many troops in it, this is a poor picture, but behind the front is a checker board of duoble stacked units in forts, which makes it easy for me to pocket 6-9 units per turns once gas issue is better or after I do HQBUs. Also the Odessa thing is simply sillyness as the LW has nothing better to do and once port is semi closed the Romanias can close it even vs a lvl 5 fort. The troops could be used better west of Moscow.

Pitaman -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-8 Blood in the Water (5/15/2015 12:43:26 PM)

Pelton,

My hat is off to you at the speed and distance your panzers moved. I misjudged that and will pay a price for that. That said, all is not lost for the motherland so long as her sons and daughters continue to fight. Don't be so sure that your rail lines are safe. You still have to round up those units in the marshes and they may be isolated by they can still move and be supplied by air. BTW, the industry in Brysansk was already moved.

There are plenty of turns to go before this game will be over.

Again, my hat is off to you regarding the speed and distance your panzers move. Will judge that better in the future. Lastly, I appreciate your playing this game with me as I am enjoying it as well as learning how to play this game better.

Regards,

Pitaman

Pitaman Callistrid is right, you are doomed and it is not shame to throw in the towel.

Pitaman -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-8 Blood in the Water (5/15/2015 1:08:21 PM)

821Bobo,

Everyone thought Russia was doomed in the summer of 1941, but they won in the end. I admit my mistakes in this game but I also have positive news when compared to other AARs I have seen. First, I have been fairly good at evacuating industry. Second, I believe I will be successful in evacuating most of the remaining industry in the south before he takes those cities. Third, my northern front is very stable and with some good fortune we will hold on to Leningrad. Lastly, time is on Russia's side. Every turn I delay him, brings us closer to mud and then winter. It will take time and troops to clear the Russian troops in the center.

You may be right that all is lost but we will only know that when we continue to play out this game.

Callistrid -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-8 Blood in the Water (5/15/2015 5:36:48 PM)

Pitaman,

the northern front is not stable. Your troops casulties are high, and the german rail lines are close. The german can transport, and refit the 4th Pz army and try to use the right hook east from Novgorod, or attack Leningrad crossing the Luga line.

The industrial evacuation don't really count this time, because Pelton need just to capture Leningrad, Moscow, Kharkov, and Rostov before 42. And in the current situation he will take all of them.

Your center front don't exist, so defending Moscow is impossible. You will buy one turn, but on T09 your forces will be pocketed, and eliminated. And without troops you cant defend the key positions.

I have no clue about your current OOB numbers, but if the soviet forces stand under 4000k, or even less (3,500k), you can't do anyhing.

I had TDV under 3.5 million by blizzard and he still raped me.

But its mild blizzard and not 1v1=2v1.

I am enjoying the game as your not the standard player, but I don't think under the current ruleset those tactics don't work any more (IF) the German player is watchfull or has exp vs it.

Your not close to any railheads and I don't have to clear the eastern most troops in the center.
They like the troops by Leningrad are strategy out of position, but worse as rail lines are cut and they have to spend a turn saving themselves while I can simply keep plowing east or cut other rail lines.

Sure it cost me a turn, but its only turn 8.

Pitaman -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-8 Blood in the Water (5/15/2015 10:45:21 PM)

You may be right, but we will have to continue playing to see how it pans out.

Either way, I am enjoying playing the game.

Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-9 3 tight pockets and Stalino smoked. (5/16/2015 12:43:50 AM)

Turn 9 GHC Armaments: 87,000 Manpower: 25,000 VP: 188

HQBUs used: 3
Armament Pts Destroyed = 70 (3)
Heavy Industry Destroyed = 36 (3)
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 =
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions:
Brigades:
SU:
AP total:
Stavka KIA: 1,825,000 Stavka OOB: 4,109,000
AGN closes off a small pocket and panzers head for Moscow. I will probably finish off the pockets, rest panzers and do HQBU’s.

Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-9 3 tight pockets and Stalino smoked. (5/16/2015 12:44:29 AM)

AGC forms a very large pocket that cannot be broken, plus another 6-8 units in the marsh. Resistance is weak, next stop Tula? No HQBUs needed here getting 30-35 MP’s, fuel cans dropped to the southern PC.

Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-9 3 tight pockets and Stalino smoked. (5/16/2015 12:45:03 AM)

AGS opens up a 30 mile wide hole in the lines and wipes out 27 AP 13 HVY in the Stalino Metro area. Russian CVs are weak just like in the center and I am guessing only going to get weaker. Next stop Rostov or Kharkov. To many troops at Odessa and the Crimea-there is nothing there of strategic importance, those troops could have formed a 3rd line of defence. Now there is nothing basicly between my panzers and Stalingrad other then empty gas tanks.

AP: 370 Need to get under: 300 or destroy 70+
Fuel: 149 Need to get under: 140 or capture 9+

Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-10 (5/21/2015 12:28:08 AM)

Turn 10 GHC Armaments: 87,000 Manpower: 25,000 VP: 191

HQBUs used: 4
Armament Pts Destroyed = 70 (3)
Heavy Industry Destroyed = 36 (3)
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 =
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions:
Brigades:
SU:
AP total:
Stavka KIA: 2,131,000

Stavka OOB: 3,955,000

AGN cleans up its pocket and 4th PG keeps pushing NE. Stavka has way way to many troops up north so I will play around down here and take Leningrad later.

Peltonx -> RE: Pelton(GHC) vs Pitman T-10 (5/21/2015 12:30:10 AM)

AGC pushes for Tula, 1 HQBU. I will have to have 10 divisions reducing this massive pocket in the center, but they will be free play at the front by turn 14-15.

Brigades:
SU:
AP total:
Stavka KIA: 2,694,000 Stavka OOB: 3,697,000
AGN has turned back north and will pound it out to the north. I am getting some movement to the west of Leningrad and south of Lake Ilmen. I need to clear this area anyways before blizzard.

Peltonx -> RE: T-11 (5/22/2015 1:11:56 AM)

AGC finishes off one pocket, the infantry move up and HQBU’s are done. There is nothing below Kursk so I have the Cav division start clearing for a possible large pocket next turn.

Peltonx -> RE: T-11 (5/22/2015 1:12:33 AM)

AGS clears the pocket and pulls back 2 Panzer Corp to do HQBU’s next turn as they be withen 20 MP’s. The 3rd Corp starts setting the table for the next pocket.

Stavka KIA: 2,834,000 Stavka OOB: 3,713,000
AGN keeps pushing for Leningrad. AGN will be left with 2 Panzer divisions. Hopefully the heavy pressure on Moscow will force Stavka to pull out some of the best troops

Peltonx -> T-15 Moscow Doomed (5/22/2015 1:15:17 AM)

AGS forms a pocket with 22 units in it. I have no idea what Pitmen is thinking doing this? Again a bunch of cav and tank divisions aka more lost trucks for?

AGC cuts another rail line to Moscow and infantry from 4th Army is arriving at the front just in time. 4th PG and 2nd Army punch a 30 mile wide hole in the front just south of Rzhev and drive 70 miles east towards Moscow. Just 4 rail lines left to cut.

Pelton, so many people will say "another unskilled victim", but overlook the talent it takes to handle the German side so decisively. Wonderful play, or do I say, " he,he,he" ???
