Nox0s -> Trying to get game to work on Windows 8 (5/27/2015 4:13:42 PM)

I've already tried compatibility mode with XP and Win7 - no luck. Game crashes everytime I try to start a game.

Anyone gotten it working on Windows 8?

Yes, it does work in windows 8.

What errors are popping up?

Ok nvm -- seems I didn't install something that was required. It now works with that installed and running as admin in compatability for Win XP SP3.

Excellent news!

Ok so it works fine but the animations seem strange. It's difficult to put my finger on it but it seems like it's lagging when moving units. In fast mode it's not noticeable since movement is basically instant, but in "normal" mode the animations seem very "off". If I didn't know better, I'd think my computer wasn't up to snuff (which ofc it is by a decade and a half's worth of tech or so [:D])

Did you install the 2.02 UPDATE?

It has an animation speed slider, so you can set the speed of action to your liking.

I had not! Installed the patch and changed the animation speed just to my liking -- I'm relieved I was worried there was some Win8 issue.

Thanks for your help Jason, much appreciated.

You're most welcome, of course!

Any other questions, feel free to ask!
