aaatoysandmore -> I didn't know Britain's were cannibals. (6/4/2015 12:20:30 AM)

Was watching one of those history channel episodes about Rome invading Britain and they said they murdered an ate their enemy. The druids believed this an act of greatest devoutness and to eat his flesh beneficial.

Now that you know the ugly truth about the British, you better understand the saying "Bring out your dead!" (not to mention, a better understanding of the stereotype of bad teeth)

Well, here in the USA we had the Donner Party. And Alferd Packer.

As the Judge who sentenced Packer said:

"Stand up yah voracious man-eatin' sonofabitch and receive yir sintince. When yah came to Hinsdale County, there was siven Dimmycrats. But you, yah et five of 'em, goddam yah. I sintince yah t' be hanged by th' neck ontil yer dead, dead, dead, as a warnin' ag'in reducin' th' Dimmycratic populayshun of this county. Packer, you Republican cannibal, I would sintince ya ta hell but the statutes forbid it."

Needless to say, he has long since been a Republican hero.

Without any further evidence I doubt that the druids practiced cannibalism.

But I assume those guys were trapped. It's eat errr human flesh or die (like that plane in the 70s in the Andes).

I am pretty certain I had read cannibalism existed in the British Isles. But not sure it had already disappeared by the time Cesar, or Claudius later landed there. So we are talking about some (or several) centuries B.C. IIRC of course [8D]

On the other hand I am sure that there are plenty of great historians that agree with my view.

Classic Red Dwalf line.
Kryten: It seemed to me that if humanoids eat chicken then obviously they'd eat their own species; otherwise they'd just be picking on the chicken.

I was merely pointing out that although I like nothing better than a tender piece of human leg for Sunday roast (like that's a crime) at least I can spell.

Eh? No sir, I think something has gone amiss in the translation. We English ride around on horses slaying dragons - not vice-versa.

Here is me on April 23rd this year.

Heh I thought so. I watch a lot of docs and I've never seen one that said druids "didn't" eat human flesh". This one is the first one I saw where it said they did though. But, we all know history is mostly madeup with a few things partially proven but still leaves many skeptical. I wonder if they would have like coke. [:'(]

I recently heard Caesar wrote is own memoirs but who is alive to prove it? Plus, they said it was 7 volumes. He sure musta liked talkin about himself back then. If there were/are 7 volumes...where are they today. Surely something like that should be in some museum somewhere? I assume they would be in early latin though so I couldn't read them anyways. Oh thas right Nero burned Rome so they would have been lost in the fire right? [:D] Good excuse for dissolving history. Much like the burning of the Alexandrian libray. Funny that huh? How fire plays a major part in believable history. [:D]

Part of being a successful boxer is being able to talk trash to your opponents. The other part is being able to back it up. And while British boxer Adam "Lights Out" Little, who is currently 12-0 in his professional career, might be able to handle the second part of that, he's not going to be allowed to talk trash to anyone ever again. Because according to a report released this week, Little was involved in a bar brawl with a 22-year-old woman named Kiah Kuzan back on New Year's Eve, and she knocked him out with a single punch.

In fairness to Little, it does sound like Kuzan caught him with a punch when he wasn't looking. He was reportedly approaching a group of bouncers inside the bar to let them know that Kuzan's boyfriend, who had been thrown out of the bar a short time before the incident, didn't deserve to get the ax. Kuzan mistakenly thought he was the reason her boyfriend had gotten tossed, though, and responded by punching him in the mouth and knocking him to the ground. It resulted in Little losing several teeth. And after it happened, Kuzan also taunted Little by sending him a Facebook message along with a note that said, "Good Luck in your career."

Kuzan was just sentenced to eight weeks in jail, put on a curfew, and ordered to pay for the repairs that were done to Little's teeth after she punched him. But Little, who used to be trained by former boxing champion Ricky Hatton, is going to have a tough time living this down. And it could end up having a big impact on his career and, more importantly, his ability to trash talk to other fighters and promote matches moving forward.
