GARY L -> CTD when Placing New Units in Jan/Feb 1940 (6/4/2015 11:35:56 AM)

Hi

I get a CTD when I get to the Placing new Units in Jan/Feb 1940

I started over and the same thing happened, I noticed that the scrap units for the New Year did not Happen, perhaps that is the Problem.

Right now I can not play past this

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Gary

Not sure what you mean by "CTD" but are you able to zip a saved game and post it?

Like Paul, I don't know what CTD means. A saved game will let us know what version you are running too.

I am pretty sure I removed the subphase Scrap Units at the beginning of each turn. Instead, that occurs before the Production phase, since that is when a player will have all the necessary information about what he wants to build. He can also scrap units that were destroyed then too. Removing an unnecessary subphase was a good thing - in my opinion.

Steve

CTD=Crash to desktop

I thought that when the new year started you were able to scrap additional units

Will try to send save when I get home from Work

As long as the choice to scrap units arrives prior to the Jan/Feb turn's production then it amounts to the same thing. So in Jan/Feb you see a choice to scrap any units destroyed in the previous Nov/Dec, plus any that are the right age depending on whether your power is active or neutral.

Hi guys. I have the same exact problem. Crashes when placing new units in Jan/Feb 1940. I'm not using the scraping rule. It happened the 1st time with the preset global war and then on a Global war I set up. I'll try to post the save when I get home.

Gary,

I restored your saved game and ran through the phases from Production to Lending (which is after Reinforcements). I had no problems with Annual Additions.

Your saved game showed you are running version 1.3.3.0, while I am running version 1.4.1.0 - which is going to be made available as a Public Beta later today.

I suspect the problem you encountered was fixed by 1.4.0.0 (or maybe earlier) since there haven't been a lot of reports of problems with Annual Additions for a long time.

---

On the other hand, there is the possibility that there could be some unit that you built during the Production phase that I didn't, which caused the problem for you, and not me.

Try version 1.4.1.0 and please let us know if you still have the trouble with that version. If so, I'll need detailed instructions on how to recreate it, so I can fix it. Worst case scenario, I'll create a Hot Patch to fix it, since I really don't like there to be fatal crashes occurring.[:@]

I updated to 1.4.1 and it fixed the problem. Thanks.
