I see there now a 1.06 update; My question is, has the last couple of updates fixed the matter of the game hanging up (CTD), where one had to
go to saves, delete something, and then go back to game for a few turns more until that process would repeat, etc, etc, making game un-playable.???

Hello JMK,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the game. We are not aware of the issue with this. Have you tried deleting the userpath.ini file? If you have not, can you please find the folder where the game is installed then find a file called Userpath.ini within that folder and delete it. Then run the game and see if the issue persists. If it does not, then the location of the save games will change from the "My Games" folder in "Documents" to the game install folder so you will need to then copy them across.

Another issue which can happen is if turn compression is enabled. Restore a previous turn (the load game interface has a button for that: click on the chip icon, then on the arrow doing a reverse turn, while you have your current game in selection). Then go to the Options menu, system and uncheck turn compression. Finally process the turn; the files generated won't be compressed anymore.

If you have tried both of these solutions and also the latest patch and you still experience crashing, then it is an issue we are not aware of so we will need to try other solutions.
