Hi.

I have a question. Could we see any day some of the advancements in the Waterloo engine enabled in the Gettysburg series as a patch or something? I mean about those engine upgrades or polishment that could be compatible with civil war of course.

Greetings

I would also like to see this.

Scourge of War: Waterloo is a great game.
But the Napoleon era can not compete with the blue and the gray.
The music, the romance, Gone with the Wind, North and South, „I wish I was in the…“

Some interface improvements like the new status bar should be great. Now in waterloo the little status window can stay opened while playing and selecting things, if I am not wrong. Or make the right click orders menu possible in Getty. Just a couple of examples.

Hi Amalur

I don't think this would be possible. Yes, Waterloo is based on the SOW Gettysburg engine but there have been too many changes that would allow to activate some of the new features.

In Waterloo, the whole user interface (toolbar, sidebars, menus, controls) has been built with a new Software (MyGUI) which will allow better modding possibilities in the future. Most of the AI code has been rewritten and enhanced. The Maps seem to be mostly compatible, though. Some user begin to port over existing SOWGB maps to be used in SOWWL. The same may be possible backwards but hasen't been tested yet.

It is much more likely that someone will create an ACW-mod for SOWWL [;)]
