ORIGINAL: tom730 I ended up going back to an auto-save and start up from there and have China "surrender" when the option came up. It actually made sense for them to do so anyway, but in a "solitaire" game I wanted them to "tough it out" and give the Japs a hard time. This worked fine, and actually made me realize something I hadn't appreciated. MWIF gives a player a wide range of auto-saves that represent "moments in time" and I don't recall anyone ever giving the developers the credit they deserve for this. For me, going all the way back to the 80's board game, the fun of the game is recreating history - again and again. The vast array of "auto-saves" makes this so much more possible, in spite of "bugs." So thanks to whoever the programmer was who said - "hey, it won't be that hard to make these options available to players." Given the amount of internet-negativity that creeps in here I think I should point this out! The game remains incredibly fun - imperfect? Sure. But amazingly fun![:)] All the auto-saves get over-written from turn to turn, so if you have an especially interesting turning point, you should load the auto save and save it under a different (appropriately named) file name so you can always return to it at a later date.
