Found this today after posting on the "Calling All Carrier Vets" thread. I always wondered what happened to Major Buang-Ly, now I know. He put the lives of his family in "the hands of America". The Captain of the USS Midway that day (Captain Chambers)is a true American hero. The crew pooled together money to help Major Buang-Ly and his family start their new lives in the US.
Try to listen to all the Majors comments, amazing. Naturalized American citizen and darn proud of it! The translator is edited out after the first rendition.
