wokelly -> Is there anyway to bulk change fighter squadrons HQs? (7/1/2015 11:29:23 PM)

Been meaning to start up another game with the new Beta patch, but I cannot for the life of me motivate myself to individually change the HQs of dozens of Allied fighter squadrons again, or try to track them down and move them to an airbase and change their HQs there. I always drastically reorganize my airforce, but after so many times doing it, its like pulling teeth. Is there any way to select multiple squadrons in the Commanders report air group window and just assign them all at once to a new HQ? Or just something that would make the process of moving several squadrons to different HQs faster?

Maybe there is a trick I missed somewhere, but it just so incredibly painful to select one squadron at a time and change the HQ manually. And its not much better to try to gather the squadrons at an airfield and change them there because you still need to hunt the map for them which is frustrating even with the filters available. Ideally you could drag and drop them under a new HQ tab, or control-click multiple squadrons and change their settings all at once.

Any tricks, or is it just as clunky as I think it is right now?

Go to the airfield and its detail screen and there's a way on the Assign tab to mass change all the air units at the field to match the airfield's HQ.

Now I learned something new too. [:)]

But I don't think this will solve wokelly's problem. I'm sometimes frustrated by this too. It would be extremely helpfull, when in Commander's Report, if you could hold CTRL and click a number of units, chosing them just as you would choose files in a standard Windows folder. Once chosen, when changing any possible setting for any of the chosen units, the result will be applied to all chosen units. To 'un-choose' the units, you simply let go of CTRL and click anywhere. Would this be difficult to program?

Likewise, to go even further, it would be great if you could mark units by CTRL-click as above, then click on the parent unit of any chosen unit, bringing up a list of applicable HQs. Picking one, all chosen units will convert to that HQ.

The game is just great, but I agree with wokelly. Some interphase solutions could make it even greater.
