Teufeldk -> Fire in the East 2 - Third test between Doc and Teufel (7/8/2015 10:40:12 PM)

Hi everyone

Me and Doc have been playing our third test game of Fire in the East 2 for some time now (I must admit it is rather time consuming - but fun as hell :))

We are currently in the summer of 1942.

I wanted to do a little AAR on the campaign in 1941, but I wanted to try something different and more fun this time around. So instead of a lot screen shots of units, I have made a more "real" map showing the German advance. The result can be seen below.

Comments are most welcome.

Cool idea and I like it!

Your gains are pretty darn close to historical by that time. Great Job!

I thought it to be the real map in the first moment :) looks awesome. Although you're behind the RL-advance everywhere by a little bit I think, your army may be in better shape in winter :) You play the axis, right? What's your goal for 42?

Thanks for your thoughts. I am glad you liked it.

This is just a quick reply as I am abroad on holiday.

Yes, I am the Axis. And yes, I am a bit behind historically but on the other hand my troops are in better shape. Because if that and because I anticipated where he would strike the Russians acomplished nothing in the Winter offensive besides knocking out the Finns, but I will make a more detailed update about that when I get back.

FYI: the game date is currentl July 1942.

In the Winter offensive the Russian choose to attack the Fins.

They also attacked the Germans around Leningrad, but the Germans were well prepared for the attacks, and repulsed the Russians, and actually took Novgorod, in a small counter offensive.

After it was evident that the Russians would not launch a major offensive on the Eastern Front, the Germans took the opportunity to attack Sevastopol, in order to clear out the Crimea before the spring.
