Been enjoying playing against the AI but wondered if I replayed a scenario again will the AI follow the same basic plan every time?

The AI is scripted with some standard movement and attack orders so it will tend to do the same thing every time.

PBEM will avoid this! Thanks.

Let me briefly explain how the AI works. (For more details, please read that section of the modder's guide.)

Basically, we have a lightly-scripted AI, in which units are told where to go at a certain time and whether to attack/defend/reinforce. This scripting, however, can be overriden by the situation: e.g., if a unit is supposed to head for a particular hill but the enemy appears in another area it will forget about that hill and head towards the enemy. So if you do the same thing each time then the AI will respond roughly the same way, but if you change your attack then the AI will also perform differently.

I'd think that after playing a certain scenario many times patterns in the AI's behavior would become evident, but don't think this is a reason not to replay a particular scenario at least once or twice.

OK thanks and been enjoying the game as newcomer to it.
