My game won't startup after installing Windows 10. After installing Windows 10 i installed the game and only the game menu will open and not the image.

Open the game installation folder. Find and select a file named Command.exe. Press the right mouse button and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. Tick the option Run this program as an administrator. Click on Apply and Ok. Run Command.exe and check if the issue persists.

I upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10 a few weeks ago, and just updated to the latest Command release and it works fine. If I can answer any specific questions, please let me know.

Before the Windows 10 Upgrade i used Windows 8.1. The game went well. after a new motherboard to be installed with Windows 10. I have installed the game. and then only did the game menu yet.

Sator -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 5:22:44 PM)

I bought a new computer with Windows 10. Installation was ok (no Steam). The start window of Command can be opened, but when I press Play nothing happen. Same thing with Command.exe, even launched as administrator.

Any solution?? [&:]

Make sure you install and watch the install for prompts for directx, .net, etc.

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 6:26:47 PM)

Yeah if you can go back here"

and work through the command not launching items. As Wood mentioned its typically a missed prerequisite.

If you still have an issue after please let us know.

Mike

I also want to point out that you need to pay attention on DirectX install. Sometimes it will ask a question. If you don't respond, it will stop the install, but it will look like it completed.

Sator -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 8:34:33 PM)

Thank you a lot, Wood, you are right: DirectX was not installed!
After I installed DirectX Command worked properly.

... but then I updated it with "UpdatePack_B735" and I got this:

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 8:41:55 PM)

Did you check the rest of the prerequisites or stop at DX?

Mike

Sator -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 9:15:00 PM)

Hello Miky! The last part of setup is not very smooth: it freezes then jumps ahead … but I think both prerequisites were installed.

Nevertheless the basic installation (V. 1.2) works properly, and the problem happens when the game is updated.

This time I uninstalled / reinstalled Command and then used the last patch B741 but the same error occurred …

VPaulus -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 9:22:23 PM)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe after installing 1.02 you'll neeed to update with 1.08 aand only then update to 1.09RC.

You can download 1.08 from the link below:

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 9:43:20 PM)

Yeah the path is install game, update to 1.08 and then install patch. Let us know if you followed that path but still have issues.

Thanks!

Mike

Sator -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (9/13/2015 10:40:56 PM)

I followed the path and now it's ok!

Thank you for your great support, VPaul and Mike!! [:)]

Good news. Have fun!

ghynson -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (3/15/2016 6:10:33 AM)

I'm not sure why Microsoft doesn't embed DX, and .Net into the every core MS OS.
Everything seems to require it now.

Hell, Ruby comes pre-installed on Linux, and I'm probably the only person in the world that uses it.

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (3/15/2016 4:04:32 PM)

No you're not:)

Mike

bosbes -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/10/2016 7:16:04 PM)

Game won't start up after upgrading to windows 10. Says 'error found during apllication setup' and then it continues in Dutch (try to translate it): can't find a part of the path F/CMANO/Temp/instance.
What?[&:]

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/10/2016 7:51:09 PM)

If its the steam version try clearing the cache and trying again.

Mike

bosbes -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/10/2016 9:32:23 PM)

No, it is à regular versIon. Reinstall?

michaelm75au -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/11/2016 11:13:12 AM)

I would suggest so. The upgrade to WIN10 is not as seem less as often stated. Sometimes, some drivers and programs get replaced or removed or just don't run under WIN10.
I upgraded my CMANO PC (about 1.5 years old) to WIN10 and it worked fine afterwards without any tweaking, but I lost access to my DVD/CD device. None of the WIN10 (or vendor) driver updates fixed it (even though it was using the standard WIN drivers once I rolled back and looked at them).[;)]

bosbes -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/11/2016 7:18:43 PM)

big sigh of dispair...

bosbes -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/13/2016 6:36:33 PM)

To continue this 'strange' story.... After upgrading to windows 10 (which believe me happened by accident !) I have discovered two different cmano files! I deleted one of them and updated the other with the latest patch and you know what? I worked again![X(]

bosbes -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/13/2016 6:37:27 PM)

I mean: 'It' worked again; I always do[:D]

mikmykWS -> RE: New install after upgrade to Windows 10 (5/13/2016 8:39:03 PM)

Glad it worked out.
