Jafele -> RE: The Countdown Thread -- Crazy is as crazy does (9/18/2015 9:58:08 PM)

Modern war is not my favourite theater of war, however I feel attracted by CS:ME. Quality games are a must-have. Sooner or later Iīll get it. [:)]

Anyway, hope to live enough to see a different theather: CS: Pre WWII. [:D]

berto -> RE: The Countdown Thread -- Crazy is as crazy does (9/19/2015 12:52:53 AM)

I have launched my csttrun automated crash test suite, this time on Windows 8.1. (We had previously tested under Windows XP, 7 & 10, but not yet 8.1.) I'll let this run night & day to completion over the next 2-3 days.

After 14 scenarios tested, no freezes or crashes.

Crossroads -> RE: The Countdown Thread -- Crazy is as crazy does (9/19/2015 10:48:12 AM)

My W10 test bench has also completed its first dozen scenarios without any issues. So far so good!

Hexagon -> RE: The Countdown Thread -- Crazy is as crazy does (9/19/2015 11:26:42 AM)

Congratulations, ultrasonography shows a healthy baby... now only you need decide who looks more if daddy or mommy [:D]

http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=63814

And nothing more to say that waiting 24/9/15 expect treasury departament give me the funds... but is hard win something so basic like shoes [8|]

Interesting mod! Will it work with JTCS 2.02? The campaign series is so flexible and can work perfectly in any theater. Guess Iīm not the only one who wish to taste different periods in history: Napoleonic, WWI, Renaissance, Medieval (why not?), ancient world, colonial wars, spanish civil war... In some way the campaign series are like history books: You learn and enjoy playing [:)]

WW I titles are definitively on our wish list too. Lesse here, in no particular order:

  • "American Civil War"
  • "Cold War Conflicts", (other historical conflicts outside KR and VN)
  • "Korea"
  • "Napoleonic Wars"
  • "Vietnam"
  • "WW I Eastern Front"
  • "WW I Western Front"
  • "WW II Eastern Front"
  • "WW II West Front" (Med and North Africa also included, for those who's not familiar with it)
  • "WW II Pacific Front"

Anything I might have missed? Oh yes:

  • "Campaign Series Goes Medieval"

Seems like we've got our work cut out in front of us [X(]

I am not sure of the WW I mod if it ever saw the daylight?

edit: better put them in alphabetical order and in parenthesis before you start quoting on me on official names and release schedules [sm=00000280.gif]

edit2: Spanish Civil War as such is somewhat covered in JTCS West Front, for its OoBs begin from 1/1930. There's at least a few scenarios available, remember playing them in a big tourny that went on at the Blitz for a couple of years, where all scenarios covering the whole period were played. It was quite epic...

    Ha!

I can now report 30 scenarios completed with 100% success rate. Those were the smaller ones, so this gets slower and slower towards the biggies.

We should have pretty high confidence that everything should work the same as it has over the past three weeks. Since the official installer version is, except for the added M/S installer bits & pieces, essentially identical to Jason's very last middle_east_GM_20150906_PM install (which itself is identical in the important parts to the 20150831 GM install that all of you have been testing).

If no reported (new) problems since 20150831, we shouldn't expect to see any over the next several days.

But, you never know -- Mr. Murphy [sm=00000643.gif] knows -- so we still need to check it all out, exercise the usual due diligence.

It does get tiresome, though. I'm getting pretty sick of All QA All the Time. I'm getting worn out anxiously awaiting to see if

Crossroads, you made my day. [&o] I donīt mind to wait, still I have to play dozens and dozens of JTCS scenarios and I wish to buy some of the modern wars titles. The Medieval theater is enormous there are plenty of scenarios and campaigns to choose from.

Yes, I know there are spanish civil war scenarios, including some of the "blue division" in the east front. All of them very nice. Furthermore, I really love early tanks (BT-5/T26/PZ I). Thatīs true SCW was so epic, clearly it deserves a game.

No, I cannot find the link to the WWI mod.

Assuming one new game per year, that's the next ten years then sorted [:D]

I am an early war buff as well. The few SCW scenarios are a blast, as are the few 1930's colonial war scenarios in Africa, for instance the Italians vs Ethiopians. [:)]

    Got 'em!

Due to last-minute fumbles, and confusion in the final packaging, there will be the need for a Zero Day Release Patch, alas. Quoting from the 1.00 readme file:

    quote:

    Change History:
    v1.00a – September 24, 2015
    • Release Patch
o Fixed the broken Adaptive A/I in PBEM and NetPlay modes.
o Fixed the engine/editor exit bug. (Which among other things, broke LCGs.)
    v1.00 – September 24, 2015
    • Initial Release

    Murphy's Law strikes again!

No big deal, really. It just means that until Matrix can remaster the installer at a later date (when we release the inevitable ME 1.01, for example), in the meantime players will do the v1.00 install, then immediately patch up to v1.00a right from the get-go.

    Hey, we're sorry for that.

Mr. Murphy's smiling to himself right about now. [sm=00000622.gif]

Given the two alternatives available, we preferred the option for a quick bug fix update. We like our programmers alive [:)]
