BKL -> [RESOLVED] Can't Get Program to Start after Being Away Long Time (9/6/2015 6:00:28 PM)

I haven't played the game for about 5 months and in the meantime I built a very high-end gaming computer. It has i7 8 core processor, 32 GB DDR4 Ram, and a 12GB Titan GPU. I'm currently using Windows 10.

I have an SSD drive. Since the computer is new, I tried to reinstall the game by downloading version 1.08 from the download page. I then realized I needed to update to version 1.09. So I downloaded the zip file and extracted. When I launch the program it just goes directly to a very fast popup that says Command has stopped working, and shuts down. I run as Aministrator with the same problem.

Did I perhaps install it wrong? I remember once having to install the initial game (I purchased it about 18 months ago with CD), and then from there installing the updates.

Please help! I look forward to getting back into the game.

First check our FAQ items in this forums. I'd start with the windows 10 solutions.

Ok, the first thing I checked was the prerequisites file. I can't find this file to run: dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe

Ok, I ran through all the issues in the links you sent to me and I still can't get it to start. The one thing I did notice is that the file dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe is not available in the prerequisite file, but it looks like I have a version 4.5 or greater.

Thats odd.

What version did you install?

Process should be.

1)Install from disk or file
2)Press Update button or get 1.08 update from Matrix downloads site
3) Apply 1.09 RC2 beta

Ok I just installed 1.08 to start. I never installed the original from my CD. Do I need to do that, install in that sequence where I first install from the CD? Then next I update after the original CD installation?
