OPilot -> Windows 10.0 (10/8/2015 12:21:53 AM)

I just downloaded WITP lastest version onto a machine with Windows 10.0 but it all I seemed to get was the Editor. Any suggestions on how to proceed with downloading and installing WITP on a computer with 10.0.

I have previously been running WITP on an XP machine with no problems.

Did you download a patch (As in you already had WitP-AE) or did you buy another copy of the game? Did you have WitP, no AE? They're not compatible.

Could you post a screenshot of the contents of the game folder?

Thanks for replying. I am not the most computer savvy person so I enlisted the tech support help and learned that I was downloading updates not the game. I have now downloaded the game with updates and discovered that I needed start the game in windows mode. Now, I am attempting to determine the best screen resolution settings.

I have been playing this game for 5 years on an XP desktop and I discovered what a challenge it can be to move to a desktop.

With Windows 10.0 on a new Dell Inspiron 3847,
WitPAE is running great! No additional switches required.

There have been a lot of recent threads dealing with Windows 10 issues, one of which described how to get full screen in Win 10 (i.e. no windowed mode}. They also cover all the resolution issues (monitor/graphics card and Win Desktop settings). Check them out if you get somewhat lost.

The switches you need go into the properties of the Desktop Icon for WITP-AE, and you have to change it to point to the game executable file rather than the game Menu which is the default install. You should be able to highlight and copy/paste someone else's path (including the " marks) and switches and delete the ones you don't want.
