chrisnh -> FPS on tabletop - what would you like to see? (10/21/2015 5:24:58 PM)

Hello everyone,
we’re a small team working on a multiplayer FPS-style tabletop game. What would you like to see in the final game?

aaatoysandmore -> RE: FPS on tabletop - what would you like to see? (10/21/2015 6:50:26 PM)

Ancients

Orm -> RE: FPS on tabletop - what would you like to see? (10/21/2015 7:01:05 PM)

Combat in space ships.

First person shooter (not literally). Basically elements from CoD, CS, BF, etc. combined into a tabletop game.

Well, I believe that there are no ancients or space ships in a middle-eastern war zone [:(], but there are jetpacks.

Btw, here's a video if you're interested: youtube com/watch?v=y4vC9pMFDj4

You didn't specify that it was a game focused on the middle east.

I dont understand what an FPS tabletop game is. A tabletop game with small numbers of units is a turn based skirmish game. An FPS by definition means 3D with a real first person camera and always in real time. These two concepts are pretty much as far a part as you can get. Confused…..

That video explains it pretty well.

They have made a tabletop game out of a shooter.

From our gaming experiences, middle eastern maps are pretty popular in games such as Call of Duty or Counter-Strike. It's also very relevant in regard to the current events. There might also be a second map with a different theme.

It technically isn't an FPS, but is instead inspired by actual FPS games and includes many elements from them, hence why I used the term FPS-style in the OP.

But you can always imagine seeing through the figure's eyes [8D].

Indeed they are. [:)]

Personally I would have preferred space troopers assaulting a rebel ship. [:D]

zakblood -> RE: FPS on tabletop - what would you like to see? (10/23/2015 8:01:37 AM)

watched the video, and see a little flaw, it's selling point is that you can play this anywhere, as it's call of duty meets arnie rip his name and comments off, well any pc game is the same, just buy a laptop, sorted, while board game players and pc players are basically the same, as if you like war, it's hex based, i can't for one moment think i'd go back to board games now days, but have played them in the past, but sorry it's not for me but good luck with it, hope you do well.

video does explain and show quite a bit tbh Iain

Well in that case if it's Starships etc. I'd go for a turn based StarShip Trooper Avalon Hill remake.

While mid-eastern may be popular to some I've never owned a game with it. I have no interest in the Middle East. If it's American or fantasy then I'm all in. Otherwise no buy.

wodin -> RE: FPS on tabletop - what would you like to see? (10/23/2015 2:34:21 PM)

WW1 or Stalingrad

There only two I can think of would interest me, one is tactical naval engagement in WWII and the other is D&D styles.

Something like this, of course the table may not be big enough...
