Hello. Trying to download latest version through updater in game app on desktop. Downloads till the end then says can't download a file, update error. I have to close as can't complete update. This is for 1.09 version. Anyone know why? Thanks. Apoll

Updater probably wants to pull down a newer version of itself and can't. Suggest just grabbing the patch (1.092) from FTP and applying it.

Ok. But that won't work, will it? The patch I'm trying to download through the updater is large and takes hours. The patch you suggest is short and I thinkmimhave already downloaded it, and it took a fraction of the time to download. So what am I missing out on? Besides, I think it says to install over the base 1.09 patch, which is the very beastie that won't complete. Do I have that right? Other views? I can't be the only one who can't' finish downloading this update, can I? What's wrong? Apoll [&:]

The update feature not working seems to be a common problem, so just update manually and download 1.09 using your browser from here: http://www.matrixgames.com/products/483/downloads/. Then unzip and run the .exe to install. Once you do that, then you can install the much smaller 1.09.02 patch and will be completely up to date.
