Ive installed the game, and the patch, and when i press the start game on the launcher absolutely nothing happens.

I can press it as much as i want and nothing happens ?

Win10, 64 bit danish.

Try going to the World in Flames folder and double-clicking on MWIF.exe

If that works, look for a file there named "autorun.exe" and make a shortcut to that and replace the icon for your launcher with that shortcut.

For myself I am not particularly enamored with the launcher and just replaced it with a shortcut to MWIF.exe. If I want to check for updates I can always go to the World in Flames folder and double click the autorun.exe.

Hey Paul, thank you for your reply.

I've just tried that and still nothing happens. WIF.exe doesnt even show up on the process list when i do that...

Very strange...

Any security software, such as antivirus firewalls and sandbox software, should be disabled when you update as the updater will replace these files as part of the update process.

plus add the game exe to the AV / firewall safe list.

make sure all patches and hot fixes installed before running.

run exe from a admin account, as admin also in the shortcut, run as admin etc.

check firewall and AV logs for errors or reasons why it blocked it.

All that is done...

when i press the button nothing happens..

Gonna try and install all over again.

I am having the same problem.

When I installed, it did not create a shortcut or desktop icon, nor a startmenu shortcut.

Autoplay will run if I click on it manually - and AFTER putting in the updater fix from another thread, the updater will check, and verifies that I am running the most current version.

But if I click on MWIF.exe, run as administrator, nothing happens. Well, not nothing... it shows up in the list of processes, but not in the list of applications.

I went to uninstall it, but its also not in the list of programs to uninstall. So I deleted the directory and tried again.

Same results, but oddly when I went to reinstall, it said it was already installed. (it was surely not) It did accept the "redo installation" option though, but the game still won't run.


EDIT - problem resolved. Installed the wrong file. The install procedure is not clear when downloading the game (which download, patching process, etc, really needs work.)
