Extraneous -> So is this correct in MWiF? (1/7/2016 1:38:41 PM)

I have checked the hyper-linked manual and RAC but the Free-French Chart is not given in detail.

So is this right [&:]

I think it is only found in rule 17.2, not on the charts. Copy/Paste from the 7m rules sitting open on my laptop right now:

Free-French Chart*
Administration group Die
Morocco, Algeria & Tunisia 10
French West Africa 9-10
Syria 9-10
Indo-China 9-10
Madagascar 8-10
All Asian map minors & territories 7-10
French Equatorial Africa 3-10
All Pacific map minors & territories 2-10
All other territories & minors 9-10

I rolled a set of those recently and got a Vichy Equatorial Africa and a Free West Africa, wrecking all Axis and Allies plans simultaneously. I can never remember what happens to the bits of land covered by line #9 in a game, ever, and the Italians always already have Jibuti anyway

I like it though, when the Marquesas go Vichy, so the French Mafia has somewhere nice to vacation for the duration of the war. Particularly interesting with alternative Vichy rules and the Rising Sun takes note of this, having sent an Alternative History Fantasy observer to that railroad car to ask for certain favors.

Those are the charts I found as well brian brian [:)]

But without further detail how do I know what makes areas make up the individual Administration Groups [&:]

Such information was originally imparted by the maps. First the off-map boxes labeled 'West' and "Equatorial", later a line drawn on the Asian-scale paper map of Africa between the two groups.

Then some of the other categorizations would depend on the names of the original four paper maps in World in Flames - East Europe, West Europe, Asia, Pacific.

Finally the America in Flames maps added some new French hexes.

The table you posted looks correct.

It is a little goofy that Papeete / Marquesas Islands aren't considered "Pacific" - a legacy of the paper maps. I have no idea what happened there historically nor does it likely really matter, though some French Convoy Points can end up there when the Allies are gaming the Vichy rules a little bit.

I should volunteer to be flown there to research this critical detail. Seems like a good time of year for that.
