Ok, This script will auto create a wreck or liferaft. It will give you 20 minutes to get within 20 miles of the Pilot. If you don't get there in time their family will be informed.
If I could identify the dbid of the unit in the area it would be betterso I can check it is SAR capable. At the moment it is ANY Player aircraft that gets there that rescues them.
You can only rescue one pilot at a time

-- Make Sure there is
-- 1 A Side called DippyLogic
-- 2 4 Reference Points in DippyLogic side called DIPPYSAR1,DIPPYSAR2,DIPPYSAR3,DIPPYSAR4
-- 3 An Event with Trigger and Action for "Unit Destroyed" calling lua script Dippy_EventUnitDestroyed()
-- 4 An Event with Trigger and Action for "Unit Enters Area" calling lua script Dippy_EventUnitEntersArea()
-- 5 Run This Script "DownedPilot.lua"

The Trigger "Unit Enters Area" must have the 4 points DIPPYSAR1,DIPPYSAR2,DIPPYSAR3,DIPPYSAR4 in it

here is a scenario with the rights events and sides

run the script and then move the plane into the enemy.

then after move the HC-130J over the wreck ..... get rid of the enemy aircraft first

EDIT: Changed the scenario file ... it now has the enemy and only allows playing as friendly side

To make life easier, the whole thing including script is in the following scene.

Just start the scenario and say goodbye to the two friendlies.

When the SAR helicopter gets near the crash site, set course for the centre.

Great work! I'm going to pull it apart and have a look later today. Very interesting.
