Is there a chance in future versions to see the DRMs resulting from a particular fire or to hit attempt - if possible before the shot is taken?

Pretty sure Peter said they are not doing this.

He did say somewhere that there would be a terrain modifier chart. Will there be some chart showing a reasonable range for weapons/units (e.g. no point having your SMG squad firing at 3 hexes if it will have little effect)?

No chart but rather a tool (Button activated) that shows the range for the weapon.

And you are correct Gerry, no DRMs will be showing and yes, there will be a Terrain Chart showing the bonuses for the attacked units that the terrain will apply.
