BKL -> Game Speed with High End Computer (2/13/2016 7:37:18 PM)

I am playing Northern Inferno Beware of the Badger. I currently have it in High Fidelity Mode and No-pulse. First, do any of these affect the realism or outcome of the simulation? Next, I am thinking about turning off High Fidelity mode because the time seems to take about 2 real seconds for every 1 simulated second. I'm surprised because I have a very high-end desktop computer - 32 GB RAM, 64-bit operating system, Intel Core i7 5960x 8 core 3.0 Ghz processor, GeForce Titan X graphic card. So, I would think I could run this at the highest possible levels without any slowdown. Any suggestions or thoughts? When I turn off high-fidelity mode, it runs completely fine - should I do that and would it have any adverse affect on the game outcome or simulation (and if not, why is high fidelity mode offered then, what's the benefit?)? Thanks, Brian
