However, the Germany u-boat unit there does but it doesn't appear his heart was really in it. Appears that the German crews are happy to "abort" home.

The only viable fighting force that Germany has left is the Kriegsmarines. The KM sorties out into the Baltic but fail to find the Soviets. The KM rolled a 10 and the Soviets a 9. One wonders with the war in Europe coming to a close if either side really wanted to fight. In fact, the KM could be accused of sorties to prevent their sailors from being pressed into the service of the army and thrown into a meat grinder that's pointless.

This is the first French unit lost in combat to the axis in 5-years. The last being Jul/Aug 1940.

The Japanese used the air moves of their land to put additional (NAV) air units into the China Sea and Sea of Japan. Because the Japanese didn't choose a naval or combine they were unable to try to initiate a naval combat in either area. However, because of the addition of the additional air units the allies could. But again, this was a trap. The NAV air was bait to try to get the allies to commit to battle in the hopes that the Japanese could sink or abort loaded transports/amphs in either or both areas.
