12.5% chance of failure, actually. To get only a 10% chance of failure would have needed one more combat point.

I am curious why you destroyed the irreplaceable and unique amphibious tank unit, rather than the Ethiopian TERR. The TERR is also unique, but not very good.
It was a Blitz attack and there were no other units that could have been taken as the first loss.

Ah, of course. Thank you.

Turn 40. Mar/Apr 1946. Axis #5. Japanese Coast.

Japan uses their two air missions to put two air units out into the Japanese Coast. This move is really to bait the allied into initiating combat (the Japanese can't with NAV air and a long). With Eisenhower on transport in the sea area the allies don't take the bait and elect not to try to initiate combat.

Turn 40. Mar/Apr 1946. Allied #11. Actions.

The USA plays an O-chit with Eisenhower and the USSR takes a super-combined.

Turn 40. Mar/Apr 1946. Allied #11. Sea of Japan.

Soviet submarines locate the lone, remaining, IJN CP. They radio in the CP location to USN and RN carriers at sea there, who then bring overwhelming force and blow the CP out of the water. This CP represented the IJN's last remaining surface capability.

Turn 40. Mar/Apr 1946. Axis #11. Weather.

Fine weather everywhere it matters (only rain in the Arctic). Not a good weather roll for the Japanese.

rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (8/3/2016 1:14:52 AM)

Turn 40. Mar/Apr 1946. Axis #11. End of Turn Check.

Literally rolling the dice, the Japanese take a pass in order to maximize the chance at 70% of the turn ending. They lose their bid, the turn continues.

As someone here famously said and I quote, "baseball would be a boring game if a 30% event never happened." [:)]
