Krys -> Bogging details (2/28/2016 3:01:39 AM)

I understand that AFVs can get bogged down (stuck) in various terrain. Again, it would be nice to know the approximate chance that an AFV will get stuck in the terrain, other than "maybe it will" which is rather nebulous. Does that chance vary depending on which type of terrain is involved?

Follow up questions - If the AFV fails its check and becomes immobilized, what are the factors that influence when it may become 'unbogged' and regain the power to move?

Loving the game - just trying to learn as I move along.

Thanks!

All I can tell you about is ASL itself. If you final roll after mods is 12 you bog. Buildings and woods are the worst hexes (+4 if stone, +3 if wood building or woods). Also mods for heavy vehicles and soft ground and others....

To unbog they roll one dice and you need 1-4 (5 is mired and 6-7 is immob). You will also use a lot of MPs to start if you unbog.

Thanks, Gerry - so if immobilized, it's permanent? Guess that will teach my field commanders to attempt to drive into buildings...

Yes, once the AFV is immobilized, it's permanent for the duration of the scenario.
