GPT55 -> Cheating AI? (teleporting) (2/28/2016 6:45:27 PM)

I am playing version 1.08.07beta as Russians against the AI (difficulty "Hard", so not a cakewalk for me). On the last turn before mud I surrounded a German division on 5 hex sides, where the sixth side is impassable (see picture). The German unit remained surrounded throughout the mud turns, but on the first snow turn (turn 22) the unit had mysteriously escaped. No battle report, no destroyed unit. The picture shows turns 21 and 22. Is this a bug?

Did the unit surrender? As its also odd because if the unit was somehow able to move out the hex would still be axis controlled. Which makes me think it surrendered. Check the destroyed units report.

Hexside may have become passable because of ice level, when the time comes try to move across with one of your own units. Several other hexes like this.

Thanks for the replies. The unit didn't surrender based on it not being listed in the Destroyed and Disbanded Units screen. I don't think it should be able to cross the impassible hex-side because this is the first turn of snow and the ice level is only 1 (see picture). At what ice level do impassible hex-sides become passable?

One more detail. I verified that the 18=22 German infantry division next to the impassible hex-size is in fact the same unit that was surrounded. I guess it did in fact cross the impassible hex-side at ice level 1. Is it supposed to be able to do that?

Don't know, learn lots of stuff by trial and error.
