I made a rules set that builds on the DaBabes Guadalcanal Scenario.
The rules allow Allied Options for an early Galvanic, Elkton and semi-Cartwheel.
It is PBEM only.

Right now I’m towards the end of a PBEM game that uses them and it is working out very well.

If you are interested check them out here and also the Dababes Scenario - there are links embedded.

You can just apply my rules and run with it.

I did make a few slight modifications to the scenario:
The Allied first turn bonus needs to be restricted to Guadalcanal so the Allied player
Cannot port attack Rabaul on the first turn.
I Increased some fort levels and airfields SPS.
Added a small garrison and fuel on Wake Island.
Changed a few of the Australian Armored LCU’s so they could be bought out.
Increased combat engineering a little for both sides.

I plan on adding a little more Japanese aviation support in the future.
I also recommend that you give the ships their spring and summer upgrades.

Easy changes with the Editor.

Kamerad Tarheel,

any download link? I am in fact also working on the idea/planning/etc. on an extended May 1942 - May 1944 Scenario. DaBabes Extended Guadalcanal Scenario Map seems perfect, because we got Tarawa and the other Gilbert Island on it. The May 1st start or using the base of the Coral Sea Scenario and extend it to May 1944 should be feasable as well. OObs and so on can be used from the Uncomon Valor user made scenario no. 17. Please drop me a line where one can find your extended DaBabes Guadalcanal with the extended time period that covers Operation Carthweel, please?

Thanks!

Klink, Oberst

Not available for download mainly because my modifications are not a scenario.
It is not what you think. This is not Cartwheel although Cartwheel could be created
Using the editor. I have not done it.

There is not an extended timeline. Cartwheel was launched in June 1943 and the Dababes
Guadalcanal scenario ends in April 1943. I have not changed that.

You can make all the slight modifications I did in about an hour.

I just added some rules that are “outside” the game engine.

Thanks for the input. I guess adding a few more victory conditions, i.e. VPs for some of the Solomon Islands such as Munda, Bouganville, etc. plus extending the time frame up until April/May 1944 would make it really interesting. I would like to call some volunteers who could provide me with the availability of LCU, ships, air groups that took part in Operation Cartwheel; incl. the TF and troops who took part in the Tarawa invasion.

You can use the “Green Books” for the OOB’s.
http://www.history.army.mil/html/bookshelves/collect/usaww2.html

It has 400 pages on Cartwheel with the organization charts and maps.

You can use the intelligence estimate for Japanese unit locations and strength.
The index lists page locations for units.

Babes Op-SF has a lot of historical introductions. Some are foreshortened for scenario purposes, but the actuals are listed in the scenario description. Think we have Japan settled down to Dec. 1943. Want it, ask. It's not in our paradigm, so might not work with WiTP-AE, but the device and oob files should portnicely.

Want? Come get.

US87891 -> RE: Operation Cartwheel? (3/15/2016 3:34:21 PM)

Grüße Oberst Klaus,

Sorry for delay. Kept busy with work. Our current projects are not compatible with the AE game engine or editor, so won't be of use to you. The latest AE compatible Op-SF scenario file (Scen035) I got from J is dated 5/26/15. That's 6 months more current than what's on the website. It should help. It's in its own zip file within the main zip file. The main file has TOE, OOB, and connection notes docs. Mostly, Aus, NZ, and Japan. The US timing and entry is readily available everywhere, so we didn't list it after January '43. John did do Air, Arty, AAA and Engs, though, and Inf OOB in theater as of Jan. '43.

I asked J if he has any more files tucked away somewhere and, if so, could he send them. If I get more I will append in another zip.

Cheers.

Matt

Oh rats, what did I do? This was supposed to go PM. If you don't get the zip file please let me know and I'll try again.

Darrell999 -> RE: Operation Cartwheel? (1/19/2019 3:58:27 PM)

Was there ever any progress on an Operation Cartwheel scenario? I would love to have it!
