Peter Fisla -> Quick Update (3/13/2016 3:19:47 PM)

Hi All,

Since the initial release of the game, I have been hard at work focusing the first game update will should be available sometime at the end of the month. The following will be part of the update:

1) Keyboard shortcuts
2) Menu accelerators
3) 2560x1440, 1200x800 resolution fixes
4) Ability to turn off sound effects
5) Ability transfer weapons between units
6) whole bunch of game bug fixes

Cheers!

Peter

Menu accelerators? What are those?

BTW Peter. I am really enjoying your game. Much more than I thought I might.

You can use a keyboard shortcut to access a menu function. Example if you want to use the jump map functionality, as of now you need to either click on the jump map icon on the toolbar or use the Display/JumpMap menu option. Well, after the game update 1, you can use by using CTRL + J keys on the keyboard.

Thanks, that's nice to hear! :)

Please allow us to map keys to functions via a config file or in-program values. I'm confused by your fetish for using the Ctrl key for everything but it really shouldn't be part of every action or selection within a program. Simply pressing J for Jump Map makes more sense, being able to select what to press even more so.

Will the sounds off option speed up the arty landing routine? First couple times seeing (and hearing it) is great, after that it is mostly a drag (Unless your targets are in all 7 target hexes of course).

The ability to speed up the arty landing routine would be nice as a separate option as well, in general I like the sound effects but the arty in particular takes too long for me.

Sounds great, thanks for keeping us informed.

The CTRL key is only for menu items, for all the buttons on the game interface you will just one key. For example to button up an AFV crew, you just select the vehicle and hit "x" key on the keyboard. I can't allow for custom key configuration because then I have to code also about users making sure they select valid keys, meaning key validation functionality.

Peter, can you tell us if AI Continue will get a shortcut?

Yes, you can use < space > key...this key will only use for the next segment...so you just use the < space > key in both situations to make it easy for the user.

How can units transfer weapons?

It's not implemented yet...

Franciscus -> RE: Quick Update (3/13/2016 7:45:03 PM)

Great, thank you for the update.

Any possibility, for this or future patches, of a zoom feature ?

Cheers

Sorry no, that's a major redesign of game engine...

UP844 -> RE: Quick Update (3/13/2016 9:38:18 PM)

Would it be possible to shift a bit the position of the "change CA" buttons? In their current location, they overlap with the "Remove Unit" button during game setup or reinforcement phases and changing a just placed AFV CA at that time requires several attempts. this is especially annoying when playing scenarios where many AFVs are present or enter.

Thanks for the update Peter. Look forward to the release. The space bar short cut will be good [:)]

Awesome choice for the space key [sm=character0272.gif]

That's too bad...

Native resolution at 2560x1440 for me makes the counters really small...[:(]

I am currently trying to play with DPI scaling at 125%, windowed mode, 1920x1080, and the size of the counters is just right. Only problem, besides having to play in a window, is the scrolling of the map having to be done by the arrow keys...[:@]

So: if no zoom feature is possible, how about an alternative way to move the map ? For instance by left clicking and dragging the mouse (a very usual convention) ?

Please ?...[:'(]

Cheers

Gerry4321 -> RE: Quick Update (3/13/2016 11:25:47 PM)

I would really like a way like this to move the map (moving off to the edges is not effecient). Left-click and drag the map in any direction a few hexes at a time would be great.
