Continuing the progression - and here is where I think something becomes amiss.

10 13mm AA machine guns use quite a bit of supply - something like 220 tons per day shooting back with virtually no effect on these raids. That is a lot of MG ammo and I think shows that if one wants to, one can simply bomb units to a no supply condition in a matter of days or drain nearby supply sources (think China, islands, etc.).

The test unit (er victim) below.

The results in table format. Note the supply consumption from air bombing appears to call a special routine somewhere.

No damage is ever done by the bombers - not repaired or otherwise as the bombs cause no damage and no hits are reported or any results in the combat replay other than flak firing ineffectively at the bombers.

In these cases the bombers were flying at 3,000 ft / the flak ceiling is 3,200 ft.

I've explained often enough that it isn't just the machine guns which "fire" back.  It is totally incorrect to ascribe the supply "expenditure" only to the machine guns.

It is also irrelevant whether the bombs are able to cause any damage.  But more importantly it is not a valid test to deploy parameters which are not present in the game and fed into the algorithms.

Vaned74, that was over 140 B-25s bombing the Japs. That is pretty unusual by the game standards.

Did you try to test with a smaller batch of bombers (30-40 aircraft)?

Also, you are using twin 13.2mm MGs in your test, so it is actually twenty barrels shooting, not ten.

True, but there is no field in the record explicitly for number of barrels, it is abstracted into Accuracy and LC.

This has (the AAA) been discussed before. There's no differentiation in the game between a unit and its devices. When a LCU is 'attacked' the whole unit is considered to be in combat for supply purposes.

Why not test it with a standard IJa division equipped with 7.7mm AAMGs?
