dippysea -> [WAD + FIXED B805] mine laying not working (3/21/2016 3:07:13 PM)

When I set a mine laying mission in Build 804 using DB Build 442 it isn't laying any mines

The weapon reloading counts down to zero then goes straight back to 40 seconds. no mines are dropped.

Okay have made some updates in B805. It will now report the exact reason why it will not lay mines:

"Water is too deep. Maximum mine depth is -1312 ft while water depth is -11608 ft."

(that's a moored mine btw [:D] )

ok, lets rephrase then :-)

is it WAD

to lay mines in line. I like the idea that the waypoints lay the mine.

In the attached the mine laying is a constant line. Rather than a random drop.

Is this right, or should the mines be laid randomly in the area

Yeah the logic is set that way. You can get better results if you make the zone narrow.

Yeah Id like to have 'drop sonobuoy at waypoint' and 'drop mine at waypoint'. This is on my to-do list but may take some time.

thanks for that :-)

Is it possible to change the mine laying logic to spread the mines out a bit more.
Since the mining mission creates random move points, maybe only dropping the mine when it reaches the next waypoint rather than as soon as the reload timer reaches zero.

These mines are spaced about 400m apart.
