I just wish I'd have started this a long time ago.

And a sneak peak at some of their terrestrial adversaries.

Matt you devil! [:)] Are you going to remake all the vehicle graphics in the game? That would be a huge endeavour but would be fantastic!

P.S. This is probably a bit too late now but I was also looking at the unit shadow issue in SPWAW. I played around with both adding a 1 pixel wide shadow and a 2 pixel wide shadow (like in Steel Panthers 2 and the Camo workshop games) for the vehicle icons. In my testing I found an interesting solution where the shadows are 2 pixel wide and consist of two different color shades.

Attached is a screenshot showing how the 2 pixel wide shadows look with that marder icon you made:

Riitaoja2 -> RE: Sneak peak.. (4/3/2016 3:17:50 PM)

This second screenshot shows how they look against the summer terrain in-game.

Also note that the shadow is applied to both the bottom and left corner of the vehicle graphic.

That's what it's starting to look like [8D]
I originally set out to doctor up a few icons in the Soviet lineup but wound up doing them all, and I have about a third of the German vehicles knocked out. Conservatively speaking, it's gonna be about a year-long project. Between a full-time career, two babies, and my other hobbies, it'll take a bit but I think I can do it.

I tried a few SP mods in the past, but realized I'm incompetent at anything but graphics.. and even that's stretching it. Accentuate the positive, amirite? [:D]

That.. is danged interesting. I did five- and six-pixel shadows for ships and some of the Star Wars icons.. hell, I'll give it a shot. I really do like the way they stand out. Thanks R2! We make a helluva team!

It would be a travesty to crush ones creative artistic inclinations. If your, artistry beckons you to create to the heights in SPWAW, so be it, you must let it happen![:)]

And lofty heights they are, indeed! [8D]

Here's a picture of my other hobby.. 1/72 aircraft and military vehicles. This is a Hasegawa A6M2-N Rufe I finished last month. Now I'm working on Hasegawa's old H8K2 Emily, converting it to the H8K2 Seiku. Hope to have it done in time for the IPMS show in Houston in a couple weeks.

Wow, very nice. I'm liking the realism touches of missing paint, rust/dirt on the floats! Would it be possible to replicate dirt/rust on the armor units in SPWAW[:D]
