rjs28023 -> Limiting Interception Radius (3/31/2016 7:05:18 PM)

I just lost a "boatload" of Me-410A's and Me-210Ca-1's because they flew an Interception Mission from Berlin to Dusseldorf, and were of course slaughtered by P-47s and a few P-38s.

I had safely moved my Bf-109G-6s and Fw-190A-5/6s back to avoid a similar fate.

Very unfortunately for me my two groups of twenty twin engine heavy fighters engaged over 200 Allied escorts and were nearly wiped out.

I had no idea they would fly that far. I have since moved them to Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Obviously, this would never have happened in the real war because commanders would have forbidden it. If there was a button we could push to limit Interception Range to 50 or 100 miles that would be very useful.

Before you say no, it would also be a good idea for WitEast2.

Please seriously consider this request.

Thanks,

Randy

It is on the list.

A good place to move them is Ploesti/Bucharest. That way they can build up strength and become a rude surprise when they inevitably send the first unescorted raid to hit your oil fields. When they hit full strength, I move them to Berlin behind my single engine fighters...

When they attrit down to about 2 squadrons full, I will take them off duty and retrain them to be bombers to add to my small TAC squadrons. They make good bombers.

In general, I limit my interception ranges by changing my load-outs so that the squadrons don't use drop tanks. It is how I discovered some aircraft types get extra cannons...like the BF-109 series. Tighter interception ranges and more damage for the win!
