jph -> [FIXED DB v443] Grey Ghost - Fuel consumption (4/5/2016 6:43:05 PM)

I have been playing the Grey Ghost mission. I used the two Orions to soften up the Russian cruisers and moved the Newport News south at cruise speed (15 kts) to delay the engagement as much as possible. I was totally surprised when less than 24 hours later a message popped up in the log telling me that the Newport News ran out fuel and was dead in the water. The accompanying ships still had plenty of fuel. At the beginning of the scenario, the Newport News has full tanks, about 40,000 fuel units, according to the "Unit Fuel" section of the side panel. Below that (once the ship has reached cruise speed a few minutes into the scenario) it says "13hrs 16 min, 199 nm". If I reduce the speed to Creep (5 kts), the text displayed says "14 hrs 42 min, 89 nm". Is this correct? Does the Newport News guzzle fuel at that amazing rate even at slow speed or am I doing something wrong? The length of the scenario is almost three days which seems pointless if the Newport News is limited to less than 15 hrs of action. Note that I was using 1.11, RC8 - B809. [Edit] I checked the Wikipedia entry for the Des Moines class cruiser and it lists a range of 10,500 nmi at 15 kts. Thank you for any insight into this and for producing such an amazing game. Note: the system does not let me upload a save file.
