It would have been ok with you making the call regarding the German Stukas. Main reason I intercepted with the Nimrods is that I either force up one of his fighters. Or get a decent fight against their bomber. Axis has good fighters but not that many. Forcing him to commit them is a valid tactic if the turn gets long. Albeit a risky one.

Is holding onto Changsha really worth it? The Japanese got a pretty good attack on it. I would be very tempted to move one hex west, behind the river. This assumes that that hex would be supplied, of course. If it isn't, then don't go there.
