Fallschirmjager -> Too late to add features, but this would awesome (4/15/2016 3:33:03 PM)

I so very much wish when doing plane upgrades and replacements we could set priorities 1-10.
The default would be 5.

But for instance, earlier in a PBEM I had a fleet CV convert from Buffalos to Wildcats.
I did it with only six Wildcats in pool.
The build rate should have filled out the carrier in 4-5 planes.
However, due to upgrade being a on or off type of option I had lots of other squadrons competing for planes.
I could have turned off upgrades for all those but that is a micro management nightmare
If I could simply have set their replacement priority on say...'10' problem solved
Instead Marine squadrons on the US West Coast got first dibs on new Wildcats and that CV took almost 3 weeks to fill out.

It is my fault for upgrading 'early' but it would be so very nice to have a priority system so that we can better determine where our precious plans divert to.

Start with upgrades set to off. Then just turn on the units you want to upgrade. I do this and keep aircraft on the coast filled with older models....GP

A better idea would be a priority setting, or settings, for squadrons to pull pilots from the reserve into them based on skill not, or in addition to, experience.

With so few replacement planes in '42 it is, as mentioned, easier to just turn them all off and manually turn on the ones you want upgraded.

This is a very easy solution.

The East Coast is protected quite well with Curtis Jennies, LOL

Use the "request veteran" option. You can filter what you want....GP

It's called "Airframe Management". Very important early in the War....GP

What am I missing. [&:] That only allows you to select the experience bands not the skills.

Click on the skill's name i.e LowGnd and the pilot list should sort by skill exp.

This is a micro management hell.

And WITP already is a micro management hell

And I want backwater units to get planes since at some point the Allies (and Japan will need to pull those units forward and use them)

I think a priority system would be better since you can divert planes directly where you want them to go without having to worry about forgetting to upgrade planes or having units suck up plane upgrades.

But I realize this is a pipe dream as new features being added are long in the rear window.

I like micro management, anyway turning upgrades and replacements off at the start and then checking each turn if you have enough aircraft to carry out an upgrade or to allow replacements is hardly micro management hell. Making a decision as to which to upgrade/replace is the tricky bit but that very much depends on the operational situation. Using your system you would still have to do this.

You CAN always downgrade a squadron, that is if you forget to globally turn off upgrades.
