E -> Display Problem (4/23/2016 3:49:41 AM)

I am unable to see the units when right clicking stacks on the right half of the map...
Also, is there a way to expand the message block?
Resolution is set correctly in the ini, and results are the same when windowed or full screen.

Have you installed the Day Zero Patch? Peter corrected some display errors in this quick update.

Otherwise it's located here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4030153

You unzip the content and paste the files into their folders.

Yes I did, prior to posting about this.

Note that the problem gets worse the closer the right-clicked stack is to the center of the map (no counters are visible at all in the popup window). The example above was a best case scenario of right clicking the furthest right stack, as far to the right on the stack, as possible.

Paullus -> RE: Display Problem (4/23/2016 11:09:29 AM)

Good. What resolution are you running the game in? I know there are some corrections made the very very soon to be released UPDATE1.

1024 x 768 (the screencap is FULL size *grin*)

Paullus -> RE: Display Problem (4/23/2016 11:40:14 AM)

That's good news. There is a solution for your problem in the UPDATE 1. Check out the forum for when it is released. It could be early next week [;)]

E -> RE: Display Problem (4/23/2016 12:16:01 PM)

BTW, will this patch give me the ability to expand the results/text window? (so I don't have to scroll it horizontally to read it)

Paullus -> RE: Display Problem (4/23/2016 12:30:12 PM)

Yes it does

E -> RE: Display Problem (4/23/2016 12:44:43 PM)

In that case, I want it YESTERDAY! *grin*

1024 x 768. I do appreciate less scrolling in the results window, and can work around the "new wrinkle."

E -> RE: Display Problem (5/12/2016 12:49:22 AM)

Whoops... I cannot work around the "new wrinkle!"

I cannot access the Start buttons for AFVs...

1) I select a tank on the Map.

2) I hit "Start" buttons that appears to overlay the Results window.

3) The tank is deselected in the Units window and a blinking cursor appears in the Results window.

4) The tank does not start and cannot be reselected.

I believe the Results windows is overlaying the AFV buttons in the logic, while the AFV buttons are overlaying the Results window in the graphics.

That will work for the AFVs for now... thanks. IS THE NEWER PATCH READY YET? *grin*

...of course, I still don't know who is in a stack on the right side of map (You don't expect me to keep having to read the Units display do you?! *grin*).

Yes, that is the patch that didn't fix the stack display and caused the new problem with the Results window.

zakblood -> RE: Display Problem (5/12/2016 6:32:07 AM)

ah ok, sorry about that, it's still early[;)]

E -> RE: Display Problem (5/12/2016 6:52:46 AM)

I should have added "Thanks for trying to help!"

zakblood -> RE: Display Problem (5/12/2016 6:56:52 AM)

no worries, i seem to be to quick in replying some days and don't maybe spend enough time reading[X(]

but thanks anyway and sorry it's not sorted, it won't be long, as another patch is in the works i read

TYHo -> RE: Display Problem (5/17/2016 5:41:10 PM)

Hi all,

I am facing the same display problem after installing the V1.0.2.7 patch, in which I cannot start/stop AFVs. So I have gone back to the Day Zero patch. Is that the only solution now in order to play the game? Otherwise, what are the keyboard shortcut keys for starting, stopping and reversing AFVs? Thanks! [&o]

Paullus -> RE: Display Problem (5/17/2016 5:52:32 PM)

You'll find them in new Appendix E in the manual:

F Start AFV Forward
B Start AFV Reverse
S Stop AFV

Peter Fisla -> RE: Display Problem (5/17/2016 6:01:01 PM)

I'm currently working on fixing 1024x768 resolution once I'm done with it I will post a beta patch.

TYHo -> RE: Display Problem (5/18/2016 11:31:56 AM)

Thanks for all your help! Didn't realized the patch also included a manual update... [;)]

E -> RE: Display Problem (9/26/2016 10:28:10 PM)

Current state of these 1024x768 bugs, as of this date...

1) The stack display is now centered and thus readable for all hex columns, but it is inconsistent on whether you have to click it to shut, it or not. The inconsistency is irritating and rhythm-breaking in the heat of the moment! It really should be one way or the other all the time. Can this be fixed?

2) Results box is still too small and must be side-scrolled to get results after EVERY combat (Does ANYBODY like side-scrolling?). This still needs a permanent fix to make the game user-friendly.

Hi E,

the 1024x768 resolution is really too small to properly support it in the game. The POPUP window is simply too big and the Action Log window is too small for this resolution. Considering that 1024x768 resolution is ancient these days, I can't focus on specifically developing functionality just for this small resolution. I made some changes in the code to address some glaring issues where buttons wouldn't size properly etc but its never going to be perfect, I'm sorry.

I and other 1024x768 users are not worth the effort. Got it.

(It's a shame too, because I did do my research before buying the game, and erroneously thought "support" meant something different than 'Well, it won't crash'... )

...The following resolutions are supported by the game
1024 x 768, 1280 x 800, 1360 x 768, 1366 x 768, 1536 x 864, 1280 x 960, 1440 x 900, 1280 x 1024, 1680 x 1050, 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1200, 1920 x 1080, 1920 x 1200, 2560 x 1440.

And this falls into the "Sort Of/Maybe" category....

My design focus is to deliver core game functionality first, as bug free as possible. Quality is very important to me...because again this is my labour of love project. I have no plans or desire to work any other game in my life, my focus is to support the game and enhance the game for many years to come.
