lk2500 -> Reinforcement Segment & Firing Range (4/27/2016 1:50:05 PM)

I am playing the Pershings on the Front scenario as the Allies. The "Reinforcement Segment" keep popping up but I don't notice any new troops. Is there something I'm supposed to be doing during this segment?

Also - I know the white dots represent firing range but I also notice that one can fire beyond that range anyway. Do the white dots just reflect "effective range"?

TIA,

P.S. - Great game, many thanks to the creators. I actually pulled out my old ASL boxes to show my kids what the games and maps looked like.

The "Reinforcement Segment" appears even if no reinforcements are scheduled to appear, since it is one of the segments making up a Player Turn. If no units are listed in the bottom left box, just click on the red button and skip to the next segment.

Small arms (essentially, squads and MGs) may fire up to twice the range indicated by the white dots with reduced effectiveness (½ firepower). Ordnance range is virtually unlimited, with the exception of light mortars, which can fire at about 12 hexes (except U.S. 60mm mortars, which have a much higher range).

Hi lk2500,

We are glad that you enjoy the game [:)]. Lets check out your questions. The setup hexes you see in Pershing to the Front are only for the AI reinforcements. To check if and when you get reinforcements click on "Display" in the Menu Bar and then on "Order of the Battle" in the Display Menu. This will show all your units and if and when you'll get reinforcements. You'll notice that you don't receive any reinforcements as a human player in Pershing to the Front. The Computer Player may get more units and reinforcements as a balance towards the human player.

The White dots represents the firing range. You may fire at twice the distance but beyond the white dots the efficiency are quite less.

Ah, very good to know I was not going crazy or seeing things when I saw those troop icons representing AI reinforcements, lol....

Thanks a lot for your help!
