Much more clever would be to turn Zippo lighters into flame throwers. Every self-respecting soldier had a Zippo.

One of the favorite tricks guys in his unit did was fill their Zippos with 140 octane avgas, then they would go into town and wait for someone to stick a cigarette in their mouth and offer to light it for them. It shot a flame about a foot high. I would think the danger of burning your hand would be kind of high, but young 20 somethings have always been known to do risky behaviors. Bill
