WWI? [:(] EDITED: oh, I think I can see the armored symbol near the French, Belgium borders. Has to be WWII!! EDIT 2: I am totally lost. Armor near the Ardennes but Austria-Hungary written on the map. WWI or WWII? Or both?

Also note the Russian units extend southward from the East Prussian border.

I just started Shadowrun: Dragonfall after leaving it waiting in my library for a long time now. I beat the first of the new Shadowrun games earlier this year, and everyone seems to say that Dragonfall blows it out of the water in every way. Looking forward to it, because I thought the first game was decent enough, if a bit linear (both in terms of the story and gameplay). I've also been playing Overwatch for multiplayer fix. Love how unique all the characters are, while at the same not being that difficult to play. I wish I had more time for wargames, but they just don't fit in the schedule right now.

I had some time to try out Great Naval Battles 2 first battle of Guadalcanal yesterday and it was great fun and a mess of things, which was not unlike the real event. I had the Sterett accidentally torpedo the O'Bannon while that ship collided with the Imperial Navy's destroyer Harusame. The Japanese big guns sank my only heavy cruisers San Francisco and Portland. All of it not good for me and probably worse than how the US performed in reality. I tried the same scenario on SSI's Warship and that was also just as hard, and i accidentally beached the San Francisco onto Guadalcanal island with the other ships of its division crashing like accordions into the back of it, doing more damage to myself than what the Japanese fleet did.

FTL is available on GOG as well as on Steam. https://www.gog.com/game/faster_than_light Although waiting for a sale seems like a good idea.

In the non-wargaming sphere, I'm kinda hooked on Heroes of the Storm (Blizzard's MOBA). It's one of those games you can play for casual fun, or try to be really competitive. There is so much variety between all the different characters and maps, you always feel like you are learning and getting better. I also just purchased Strategic Command 3 and I'm really digging it. I already have more than a couple games covering this sort of thing, but SC3 is the ideal mix of complexity and fun. There is enough going on that it does feel like you need some real strategy to win, but at the same time it's very user friendly. Research, diplomacy, production is all there, but streamlined so you can easily pick what you want and get to the strategy. It also looks much nicer than the previous version, all the roughness has been smoothed out of the visuals.

Midway Arcade Treasures: Deluxe Edition just arrived today! It has 28 (said in the box) or 29 (said in the installer) arcade games. I installed the set and it works well enough on my Windows 7 and PlayStation style Trust game pad (has plugs for USB and PS3). I played Wizard of Wor and TOTAL CARNAGE! That's it for now.

I have played bit of Xenonauts for a change. Today I got jumped by 4 UFOs at short intervals. Luckily I have 3 bases operational (December of 1979) with enough of fighters to go at all of them, and I have set up 4th base.

This week I have been obsessed with Phantasy Star II, part of this collection. I have read Mega Drive original used to come with maps and game guide, but no such things with Steam release. Google helped me to find what I need, and so playing the game isn't just banging my head against the monitor.

New game: Lords of Waterdeep. It's a builder game where you place your tokens on things and then do them. Pretty good. Then some Gremlin's Inc and Mount and Blade Viking Conquest. Recently dowloaded Lord of the Rings: The Third Age for it. All these are getting boring though save for Waterdeep. It's still new. Looking for that Barbarossa game like Avalon Hills Stalingrad though.
