Those are...surprisingly good. I mean, like, "pique my interest" good.

screen shots look really nice! - was going to make 1 suggestion the snow picture is slightly hard to make out the unit numbers etc because all the white dots.

- I really like how the colors pop out and how you can see what terrain is on the map (like picture 3rd down from top).

AZKGungHo -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/17/2016 5:47:45 PM)

I like the interface along the bottom of the map, looks great. The map itself seems a little dull perhaps, but I'll wait and see what the finished product looks like. Besides the game is the thing, not too concerned about it's looks.

Ason -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/17/2016 6:02:14 PM)

This looks amazing! I'm so happy to see the square tiles gone, those were the worst! Size of map is pretty perfect and it looks absolutely awesome!
Would like to see a bit more forests in and around Hungary/Slovakia/Romania though, especially around the mountain areas. Also please let us stack 2 corps /1 corps and support unit, that would be glorious! :D

Will there only be corps and armies or will we see divisions also? Would be nice with divisions for smaller custom scenarios.

I'm really looking forward to this one, I hope we can see a 'lets play' soon!
Keep up the good job!

Two quick comments.

First, you are using the wrong American flag.

The 50-star flag has its stars arranged in a checkerboard, and is clearly distinguishable from the 48-star flag that was in use during most of the century which has its stars in straight files and columns.

The 50-star flag is the modern flag that has been in use since the 1960's: fine for a game about the Vietnam War, but wrong for any earlier period in the twentieth century (like Korea, WW I or WW II).

Second, the map of Southern Italy and Sicily is unfortunate and really needs to be redrawn.

While it is true that allowances have to be made for translating those particular landmasses to a hex field, my sense is that the mistake your cartographer made was to try to fit the drawing of the coastlines to which hexes were land and which were sea, rather than the other way around. Apulia and Calabria don't look like that, and Sicily doesn't either.

I like more the map tiles in the old SC2, they looked prettier. Also the scale in SC2 WW1 breakthrough was more detailed, although I see there is a distortion in the map, like in the Assault on Comunism, so that it is more extended horizontally, so that a campaign in Russia gets more depth in space.

WOW! Looks brilliant.

Hexes, as expected!

The look and feel is good - visual cues are evident and clear. Like the rounded hex look on national boundaries / ZOCs. Symbolic counters look great.

Very impressive screens. I like it all for the most part.

Some infantry units have 3 figures, others have 4. What does that signify?

Game looks great. Can't wait to play.

Missouri_Rebel -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/18/2016 4:26:23 AM)

Love the bases on the figures but think the numbers are way too small.

Overall, pleasantly surprised.

NO TILES - YAY !! [&o]

Don't like the dull map, its not evident at a glance what the different terrain is, forcing me to eyeball each individual hex. I don't expect anything to be changed at this late point, plus it seems to be the way that developers do maps these days. Its pretty awful and shows a lack of imagination and attention to detail.

Roads look like a two year old drew them. Very unprofessional.

Snow doesn't need to be so overpowering. It actually changes the map and the way we look at it. It could be toned down a lot and we would still get the point.

The horizontally stretched jump map is hideous, very 1982 and unprofessional.

Every thing else appears to be nice, especially rivers [hexside but not robotic].

As to Italy and Sicily, I've made a few maps for another game and will say that it is a difficult area and requires some 'interpretations' to allow for hexes and land/sea movement/combat.

Corps or Army size

I'm puzzled why offer better pictures in the forum, but less detailed ones on the product page of the game.
Not sure why you continue to present your games less good than you could (with low detailed pictures, 3D cover arts only), but from all i know & have seen you really like to go this way.
:(

crispy131313 -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/18/2016 4:51:46 PM)

I like the new look.

My first observation is on screen 4, it contains the only exhausted unit captured among all the screens and it has a darkened token color. I think that is a great feature and will make it much easier on the eyes then browsing for flashing avatars.

I would also like to comment on the scale of the map, the large scale is a departure from Fury Software's steady progression of increasing the size of the map with each expansion. I take this a good sign that the AI is already competent enough to maneuver effectively at this scale.

Great job!

How about no bases on the 3D unit icons?

Look closely: There is usually a rail and a road alongside each other. The actual road looks very good. So does the railroad. If you don't notice that they're alongside each other, it would look poorly drawn. I made the same mistake at first glance.

Hubert Cater -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/20/2016 2:36:22 AM)

Thanks for the feedback and positive comments everyone [:)]

It has been a long road for us but we are very happy to be nearing the end. We'll have much more material to share with you over the next little while including some of the new features and game mechanics, as well as all the AI improvements and enhancements.

We think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by just how much the game series has improved and what it will have to offer for new and old players alike!

Thanks for pointing this out. Looking at shot #2 [the one with Italy], the difference can easily be seen. In Albania and part of Greece there is only the road and it looks ok, but adding the rail to the same hex makes it 'look poorly drawn'. However, I notice in the SC2 files that I have, the graphic can be user modified, so maybe this is something that can be changed to suit after SC3 is released.

@ Xwormwood

Hi, not sure what you mean. The screenshots here are the same uploaded on the product page. Do they appear different to you?

zakblood -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/20/2016 8:51:33 AM)

comparisons are hard to do her for me as it's only a 200k limit

but have downloaded and copied to main to see what's the difference, tbh i can't tell any either

n0kn0k -> RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots! (6/20/2016 9:51:09 AM)

There is a big difference tbh.
Take the picture with Italy on it for example.

Forumpost vs Productpage
Crisp image vs fuzzy image
PNG vs JPG

I like the look of the game and am looking forward to playing it. The weather overlay is nice but I would make the weather appear over water hexes as well, that would make it look a bit more consistent, now it looks a bit strange that is doesn't rain of snow on the ocean.

Thanks for the feedback. The map is intentionally quite simple in look so that units pop out from the background and can be easily spotted. If we add detail to the terrain it tends to make things harder to see so its a balance between looks and playability.

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes it is tricky to make hexes match real land masses. Sometimes features have to be reduced or expanded to achieve specific gameplay rolls as well, though the team can comment on that. One advantage of the hex system though rather than a hand drawn map is anyone can edit the map and make the changes they prefer.

The ones from forum are slightly better, i've download first the ones from the product page and later the ones from the forum, and that not because I collect picture, but because I found out about the difference.
