Sensei.Tokugawa -> [Resolved] Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/18/2016 7:19:29 AM)

I have been pondering on that question for some time as I can clearly remember that the build version used to be updated quite often and I was on a constant lookout for a newer content, but now I don't even see the thread dedicated to that anymore. Has it become obsolete after final 1.11 or I have missed something important?

ComDev -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/18/2016 7:42:54 AM)

B825 is v1.11. A v1.11 Service Release is on the way [8D]

Thanks a lot mate.

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/19/2016 11:57:01 PM)

Ragnar,

Will the link to Build 825 be posted here? I would sure like to have it, as well.

Thanks

Doug

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 2:24:16 AM)

Ragnar,

My current version is 1.11, but my DB is 823.

I would like to upgrade up to 825 (or higher).

It was suggested that I run the update. When I did, I am right back where I was, with Build 823.

How do I get to a Build higher than 823 because updating it as described did not do anything at all.

Doug

Hi Doug, just a few questions [8D]

Is the game exe running when you run the update?

Try-restarting the computer before running the updater.

Are you installing the game to the correct directory?

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 9:32:46 AM)

Hi Ragnar,

In answer to your question, no the program was not running when I updated it. Additionally, I rebooted the machine and reinstalled the patch using the link that Kevin suggested in the message above. That took me to the message from Danielle which was titled as below:

CMANO 1.11 Version Patchnotes - 5/9/2016 6:27:52 PM

The actual link provided was found in the message is follows:

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4078723

I downloaded the update from that link, and re-installed it. I then rebooted, and then re-opened the game.

I can see that various aspects of the program within the folder have updated dates.

When restarting the game, it continues to state that I am using version 1.11, Release Candidate 22, Build 823

Perhaps there is another link that is more updated than the one? It would appear to me that the download aspect is working, and it is going into the proper folder, but I might not be downloading the proper files from the proper, most updated site.

Thanks in advance.

Doug

ComDev -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 10:46:27 AM)

Hmm could it be you installed the upgrade to a different directory?

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 12:56:10 PM)

Can you tell me what the Command.exe file dates should be? I can look for it that way. Everything in my folder indicates that things (like the db folder), etc., have been updated recently.

Someone brought up an issue regarding two main folders within CMANO. It has one for CMANO, and one for Wargame of the Year. I have always updated everything into the first folder. The second folder does have things in it, but not nearlt what the first folder has. Should all of this be stuff be updated into the Wargame of the Year folder instead of the other CMANO folder? Perhaps that is the issue. The only weird part about that is that everything has always worked BEFORE, so I don't know why it wouldn't work now.

Try grabbing a fresh download of the update as well. The first one seemed to have an issue but the next version resolved this issue.

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 1:18:37 PM)

Ragnar,

I think that you will be able to figure it out now.

When I downloaded the new file, the CommandMANO-CommandNI-UpdateComp-v111.exe, into my CMANO directory (not the Wargame of the Year directory) and I run the program, a box opens that indicates "Version Too Low". It then indicates that I have to have version 1.09 installed before I can install version 1.11. I did have version 1.09 installed a long time before I installed 1.11. As I said, my game indicates that it is version 1.11, Build 823 right now before any changes.

I believe that the fix is simple, you will just have to tell me what to do. Obviously, the program isn't seeing the patch (dated April 28, 2016), that brought my Command.exe file up to 1.11 to begin with.

Thanks,

I'll wait for your response.

Doug

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 1:20:18 PM)

Mike,

I just downloaded it again. Still the same result. I received the "Version Too Low" message.

mikmykWS -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 1:41:01 PM)

Well first I'd simplify. I'd stick to one string and I'd backup your scenario files and uninstall and reinstall. Having the two root folders is not normal.

Reinstall would be like this. Install from disk, hit the update button and apply patch if necessary. Be consistent about where you are pointing the installer.

Please back up all scenario files, imports you may have created and DB image files. Please also make sure you have an original disk or executables to install from. If not contact matrix games support on this.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

Before I do all of that, can you tell me why there are two folders within the CMANO root folder---one that says CMANO and one that says Wargame of the Year. I didn't create them, so they had to be created somewhere. Which of those two folders should the game files be located in?

thewood1 -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 2:17:19 PM)

I think one of the official updates defaulted to the WOTY folder. So if you weren't paying attention, it created a new folder. For someone who doesn't know their way around a PC, it might be better to start fresh and re-install.

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 2:56:43 PM)

Kevin,

My computer skills a pretty good. I go back to 1984 and I am even quite familiar with DOS. In fact, we used to call folders by the name of directories. I do know that the WGOTY became a folder of its own at some point, and it may have been the default, but there was never any documentation to indicate that that one had replaced the original, so I may have redirected the icon back to the original and away from the WGOTY for that reason.

What is perplexing is that it has worked through all of the other updates, including version 1.11, but I am stopped at Build 823.

Perhaps someone could send me the latest Command.exe file. My latest is dated April 28, 2016. I could replace my with the newest one, and then I might be up-to-date. If that doesn't work, then I can try a complete re-install.

Thanks for your efforts.

Doug

thewood1 -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 3:22:12 PM)

Don't do that...Just uninstall and reinstall. And pat attention to the directories its installing to. If you start screwing around with copying odd files here and there, it will be a mess.

There were two titles of the game and unfortunately the folders were named differently.

It doesn't really matter as long as you pick one. Have your files all over the place just frustrates you and makes supporting it via forum posts a nightmare for all.

The folks at matrix support can help you with a new installer. Have you contacted them? If you have and haven't gotten a response please do let us know. They handle the installers and licensing stuff for us.

Thanks!

Mike,

Yes, I sent in a request. I don't know how long that it takes. Any chance that you could send a copy of your exe file to me so that I could try that. I can always rename mine, and try yours. If it works, then I'm good. If not, I can delete the new one, and then re-install mine until the support people get a chance to work on my problem.

DWReese -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 4:15:09 PM)

To Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who offered assistance.

I reinstalled everything and now it works. It did require some extra things, but it appears to function normally. It left me with Build 825.

Is Build 825 the most current? I do see other builds which have higher numbers, but perhaps those are used by devs or so.

Thanks again.

Doug

Dimitris -> RE: Is my current Build 825 up to date? (6/20/2016 4:20:57 PM)

Yes, B825 is currently the latest official build. Build numbers higher than this refer to private betas in preparation for the official service release which will be available soon.
