Installed OoB WW2 today on an elderly machine that by far exceeds the requirements but cannot complete even the first boot camp scenario. It loads, but at a point during the briefing or randomly during the first three turns I get a BSoD. I have reduced the graphic quality and turned off every graphic option, have the most up to date drivers etc. The video card simply closes down and my monitor says there is no signal. Never had anything like this on any game before and I usually run stuff much more graphically intensive.

ok, lets take a look,

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3852177

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8 )
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments (zip) rather than pasted into the body of the post.

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.

That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.

run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,

If you have the original version. So you'll need to update it from the Internet.
Please note that you'll only need the last update, as the updates are comprehensive. (not needed with steam)

Check your sound drivers as well, it's not always the graphics card or the OS.

DxDiag attached. Can't see a problem myself. Am working through other suggestions

log is empty of anything useful so nothing to go on from there, normally a log file has error messages in it, but yours has either been cut short or not included or is just blank and empty, so no help to me i'm sorry to say[:(]

so apart from, re loading the pre requisite that the game needs, not lot i can do on vista

I have seen similar issues with PC's. I have not had the issue with this title but at least on my system I've had the video card just shut off. Same no signal on the monitor and I have to power off the PC and leave it off for 20-30 seconds for it to work again. Only solution I have found on some titles is to check the resolution of the card vs the monitor. Sometimes the card will go to a resolution the monitor won't support and it looks like it has died. At least in my case it seems it's more of a hardware issue vs OS or program issue so won't always generate a dx diag report at least in my case. I've also had this problem that led to a bad video card and a weak power supply that wasn't supplying the needed current to the video card.
