Hello! I bought CMANO about a month ago and have been trying to get it working with Wine on Linux with and without the help of Play On Linux but no luck so far. It gets stuck installing dotnet during its first time setup when starting it in Steam. If I cancel the fist time setup and start the game with the launcher that pops up the game crashes almost instantly with a type of dotnet or directx error depending on which version of Wine and which configuration I am using. I've tried installing dotnet45, vcredist and dx9 with winetricks and then running CMANO in Steam. With this I get past the first time setup but the game just locks up with a splash screen showing only a red X over a white background. Other games like Close Combat Panthers in the Fog and Vietnam sixty-five I have managed to play using Wine without a problem. I have found a few topics on this forum about running CMANO under Linux but they didn't help much and the most recent is three years old so I thought that maybe by now more people have tried and hopefully succeeded running CMANO with Wine. If all else fails I guess I'll try setting up a Windows VM and playing like that but I'd like to try with Wine a bit longer. So - if you are running CMANO with Wine it would be a great help if you could share how you did it. (which version of Wine, which libraries...) Thanks!

VPaulus gave me trusted user access so I can post normally now. Thanks VPaulus! I really want to run CMANO on my linux box but am installing on my Windows box now so at least I can play it. Hopefully I'll be posting some AARs soon. :)

I have not succeed in getting CMANO to run on wine yet. But I admit, I have not had the time to troubleshoot this in the past week. Hopefully I'll have some more time this week.

Tried again tonight and still no luck yet. The combo that has gotten me closest is: Using playonlinx: - Setup a 32bit virtual drive - I used wine 1.9.15 as the wine version. - install donet40 using winetricks: export WINEPREFIX=PATH_TO_THE_V_DRIVE winetricks dotnet40 It showed it downloading dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe which is odd since I have a 32bit vdrive, but it seems to have worked. - Choose the vdrive and run a .exe. Choose the CMANO installer .exe. Got some error message about rundll32 or something but missed the whole thing. :( - After CMANO installs you get prompted to installed required software. I unchecked .NET stuff. - Created a shortcut to Command.exe This gave me the splash screen and it showed a window briefly but crashed shortly after that. Hey, it's the OP. I just tried again a couple of times with playonlinux and have had no luck launching the game at all. However, I then tried running it using just the system (Debian) version of wine (version 1.8.3), that I use for all other Windows games I play, and it worked! It actually started and I can view available scenarios and such but every single one that I tried gives me a popup saying "A problem occured while loading the selected scenario. Please select another scenario to load." Now I've used winetricks on this wineprefix many times to install dotnet versions and directx and other dlls so I don't know which exact combination allowed me to run the game at this point. I do know that I have dotnet40 installed, as well as dx9 and vcrun6. The game still sometimes doesn't get farther than the launcher window: wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to hex_address at address hex_address (thread 0080), starting debugger... But simply trying more times gets it to the 'Start menu' with the 'Campaign', 'Start new scenario', etc. buttons. Are there debug logs stored anywhere? The logs folder only has a few older entries not connected to the scenario loading bug. This is all using build 839.7 Steam version.
