Soola -> Optional rules (4/15/2003 7:58:51 PM)

One optional rule I’d like to see implemented is one my group have been using for a little more than one campaign so far.

For every surrender made by a nation, the PP value of future surrenders are lowered by 1.
For a conditional surrender only against the victor, for an unconditional surrender against everyone.

This reduction is completely removed whenever the country accepts a formal surrender from another nation.
If surrendering to more than one power at the same time, it is counted as only on surrender. The reduction can not go below zero.

Example.
Prussia has surrendered unconditionally to France once, and conditionally twice. If France attacks again and wins, she will get 0 PP for a conditional surrender, and 2 PP for an unconditional surrender.
If Russia attacks Prussia together with France she will gain 2 PP for a conditional surrender and 4 PP for an unconditional surrender.

We have tried this rule in order to stop the normal French behaviour of repeatedly attacking Austria and Prussia, and try to Force France to go to Spain, Russia and/or Turkey. An added bonus is that attacking the weakend powers just after a peace is no longer as profitable.

Does anyone else have optional rules we’d like to se added? If it’s to late to add them to the computer game, at least we can add them to our future FTF games.
