ORIGINAL: Canoerebel Ugg. I have to disagree. We were Soldiers seemed like a lame attempt to place Zulu or Wagon Train in a Vietnam setting. I should point out that Hal Moore was a Lt. Col. at the time of X-Ray/Ia Drang Valley. Out of curiosity, m1bob, did you read the book, which was co-authored by Moore and Joe Galloway? It's the finest piece of military history I've read (and that's saying something, for as a general rule I don't have a high degree of interest in the Vietnam conflict). Sorry for hijacking, but it's not a complete hijack since Gibson is involved in the upcoming Doss movie. I was aware Moore was a LTC at the time, and yes, I have read the book. Generally I avoid books on that war like the plague. I have a couple of hundred history books in my library and have maybe 2 or 3 on that war.
