What if a popup could be triggered by attaining a new research level? The player would see text and a relevant picture. This would introduce a bit of history into the game.

Examples:

USSR: Tank Level 2: Soviet Army deploys T-32 Tank designed by Mikhail Koshkin

USSR: Tank Level 3: Soviet Army deploys T-34 Tank designed by Mikhail Koshkin

GER: Tank Level 4: German Army deploys Tiger Tank

GER: Tank Level 5: German Army deploys Tiger II Tank

Example: Long Range Bombers

UK: Bombers Level 2: Royalty Air Forces deploys the Avro Lancaster 4 engine heavy bomber.

Example: Subs

GER: Sub Tech 3: Germany deploys new Zaunköning (Wren) torpedo. The weapon is designed to lock onto the loudest noise after a run of 400m from its launch. It has a range of 5700 meters and a speed of 24 knots.

GER: Sub Tech 4: Germany deploys NAXOS radar detector on its submarines. Allied air threat to submarines reduced.
GER: Sub Tech 5: Germany deploys new Type XXI submarine, a diesel-electric submarine that is designed to operate submerged.

USA: Sub Tech 2: US Navy deploys Gato class submarines that can dive up to 300 feet.
