Andrea G -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (10/24/2017 9:04:56 AM)

Taking into account what is happening with CMANO's Shifting Sands I will not be disappointed if CSME will remain a purely Matrix Game [;)]

Thanks for the clarification Crossroads, I'll continue to watch this space.

Updated: 20171104

fritzfarlig -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/7/2017 9:01:03 AM)

where can we download the beta version ?

Crossroads -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/7/2017 9:08:55 AM)

There is no public CSME 2.0 BETA available. However, the official UPDATE should be out, as Berto put it earlier, "in weeks, rather than in months".

Andrea G -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/7/2017 9:22:28 AM)

What will happen with saved games?
It's better that I finish the scenario I am currently playing before downloading the update?

Sorry if you have already answered the question.

Yes, I'd recommend keeping the previous version there as-is, for instance at

  • \Matrix Games\Campaign Series Middle East

... and to install the new version to a new folder, for instance at

  • \Matrix Games\Campaign Series Middle East 2.0

This way, you can finish your old battles without missing out on anything new, and at the same time you can start new battles with the latest version.

I dont understand...so East Front covers 1939-41 and will have DLCs, but East Front 1942-43 will be a separate game?

What will the ‘39-41 DLCs cover?

I guess we won’t see ‘42-43 (much less ‘44-45) for several years? Why not make them DLCs rather than separate games someverything can be played together?

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/7/2017 3:23:56 PM)

42-43 and 44-45 will be the core DLC’s for East Front III 1939-1941

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/7/2017 4:44:55 PM)

For added clarification , West Front II will follow same model, 1939-1941 released as the core game, 1942-1943-“ and 1944-1945 released as the primary DLC’s.

Pacific Front will be the same.

Everything indeed to be made available within one game:

Campaign Series: East Front III (1939-1941)

  • EF III DLC#1: 1942-1943
  • EF III DLC#2: 1944-1945

  • hellfish6 -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (2/1/2018 3:25:08 PM)

Just saw that there's a Cold War version down the road. Will this include the early Cold War era, like the Hungarian Uprising in '56, Berlin Crisis in '61 or Cuba crisis in '62?

Maybe not in the first Cold War 1.00 release, but yes, eventually those will be included.

stanthecaddy019 -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/10/2018 3:06:01 PM)

    Hi fellas--

Will there be a rough roadmap update posted at any point in the near future? Am presuming that CS Vietnam has been pushed back to 2019, and was wondering if you had a rough quarter timeframe on when you anticipate we might be lucky enough to see it?

    Thanks!

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/10/2018 3:37:05 PM)

    2nd-3rd quarter.

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (11/10/2018 4:40:24 PM)

    Revised first post.

Still subject to change, but those are our current goals.

mheard -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) - Camouflage (12/11/2018 1:00:14 AM)

Really fantastic Vietnam maps produced so far and I congratulate the development team.

Is is possible to include a camouflage option?

    1) At scenario design units can be designated as having camouflage. This would increase their concealment level by X depending on terrain and type of unit - troops easier to hide than trucks, for example.

    2) Units (not all) have option to camouflage themselves and this would take 1 to X turns depending, once again, on type of unit (plus country) and terrain. A platoon of infantry in a wood takes less time than a tank in open desert to increase concealment. The Viet Cong & NVA & Japanese were very good at hiding themselves.

    3) Dummy units - tanks & trucks - used in WWII in the desert and useful to have for ME for what if scenarios plus for WF3+ perhaps.

Coding wise what is involved in having (1) and (2)?

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) - Camouflage (12/11/2018 2:20:06 AM)

Looks like a good wishlist item, Martin, something that would have be saved for future updates/releases.

We're passed adding new features to the Vietnam game, now focusing on scenarios and AI improvements/scripting.

Infierno -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) - Camouflage (1/17/2019 2:22:30 AM)

Really looking forward to CS:Vietnam. I'm finally learning CS:ME and it's great -- I think I might actually like it better than the Squad Battles series, which is a long-time favorite of mine.

    Keep it up!

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) - Camouflage (1/17/2019 2:47:43 AM)

    Thank you, Infierno!

You'll see with the 2.02 UPDATE after Vietnam is released that the game will truly shine with the brand new AI!

    It's a GAME CHANGER!!

Here I thought the John Tiller Campaign Series 2.0 was a game changer :)

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) - Camouflage (4/11/2019 2:47:09 AM)

Compared to what is coming in Vietnam, not even close!

ringoblood -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/13/2019 10:30:08 AM)

    Cold War drool

carll11 -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/13/2019 2:27:09 PM)

morning gents, just a simple query, whats your latest target for CS:Vietnam release?

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/13/2019 5:24:11 PM)

End of the year, or early next.

dox44 -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/14/2019 4:45:42 PM)

alright. can't wait to get it!

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/14/2019 7:21:15 PM)

Alas, it is taking longer than anticipated. The efforts are completely worth it though. The end product will be nothing like anything we've done before!

carll11 -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/15/2019 4:36:19 PM)

    wow, thats quite the uhmm.......'re-scheduling'....

Jason Petho -> RE: The Road Ahead (Subject to change) (4/15/2019 5:01:42 PM)

Alas, it's more work than originally anticipated.

Again, it's for the greater good.
