Dysta -> RE: Should OECM on ships not always be turned on? (9/18/2016 5:18:24 PM)

I was thinking if OECM may cause emission to give detection to the enemy, they can try to 'Force' you to stay OECM on by launching SEAD at you, firing ASM one at a time to keep your AA radar and jammer busy. And then their ARM will take care of you much easier. But it doesn't seems the case from U6643, you keep OECM on to spoof enemy radar and harder to pinpoint your ships' location, so you can quickly intercept them with air units, without using radar from your ships. Also, hostile SEAD can hardly suppress you if ASM are jammed at the beginning, so you don't have to open the radar to intercept them. The only problem is the ARM. If it can track the source of OECM emission, it will be very difficult to intercept, since they're supersonic and can search for other emissions if missed.
