pandoraefretum -> This is a bug in my opinion (10/7/2016 12:29:22 AM)

My problem with the jittery slider in F2 mode (and the impossibility of setting a desired speed accurately or not at all) shows identical behavior in build 847.1 on my laptop as well as my desktop.

So this is certainly a bug because I cannot issue a change of speed order to my group.
Please can someone help me out with this, if I'm wrong ?
... start of scenario First Contact +1986 MTB Group 4 (unpaused)

ps. I have great respect and excitement for CMANO ; just wanting to solve this issue
pps. sometimes in the F2 window, the slider does not even show up... it's missing!

Can you use the arrow keys to move the slider?

As far as the jittery part is the game lagging or anything?

Mike

ah... that's interesting I never thought of using the arrow keys!

Immediately, I can tell it's very stable with arrow keys.. which move it in increments of 5 kts, furthermore the setting stays put and look very stable and reliable... also I can see the slider gets "selected" and a dotted outline is formed. A totally different and satisfying experience compared to using the mouse pointer!!

With this work around I can play the game...
Would it help if I did a Youtube clip of my anomaly ?
There is no game lag at all at any stage.

Let me test out the arrow key behavior further, now..

No, wait, I'm mistaken

Reason being that it happens at the beginning of First Conctact 1986 MTB Group 4
I realise the ships are station keeping or something... but all the same I cannot change speed reliably with either mouse or keyboard arrows
I think the arrows help, with chunkier movements, but whatever speed I leave it at gets ignored

Ok just looking and the scenario editor that designed the scenarios has pre assigned them to patrol missions which does take over much of the logic. This is particularly true once they go engaged offensive.

Try removing them from missions and plotting for more control. You might also try assigning them your own missions with mission speeds set by you at the bottom right hand side of the mission editor.

Thanks!

Mike

Thx, I hear you Mike !

But if I click U on MTB4 to un-assign it from the ASuW Patrol (mission editor confirms it is removed from the patrol) then I still get this behavior :

In the Unit Status Window on Right "Speed:" keeps changing on its own... (Manual box is ticked)
Speed: keeps switching (Creep) (Cruise) (Full Stop) (Creep) (Full Stop) (Cruise) .... frequency is about one change per second.

And jittery slider persists following above speed changes I have just described.

Do me a favor and post your save. Best way to see what you're seeing. Thanks!
